So far so good BUY THE SOCKS

It took us two or three tries to figure out how tight the front and back boots were, but I think we figured it out. Socks make it easier to put on boots in my opinion. I live in Alaska and we spend a lot of time in the snow and these boots were a good purchase. I recommend them, you just have to type things in over time, that's it.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Excellent quality product

love this company's products. Had to send them back (socks and boots) as our older dog can't navigate them. She tends to shuffle and cannot effectively lift her shoes at this stage of her life. Expectations were so high, the socks and boots are adorable. The return is not a negative reflection of the company. We also have other products from this company, high quality, nice packaging, etc.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some trouble

Not waterproof... smells musty

Bought these boots for my GS, she has arthritis in her hips and she looked like she was dragging a paw so I only used one boot, the boot held up well but wasn't waterproof, the paw mine Girl's was wet and the boots that only got wet from morning grass walking, I changed boots because they never dried and by the second day of wearing started smelling musty. I am sending them back.... These boots were sent to me second hand...there was dog hair in them...that I can handle

  • Everything is great!

Undecided how I feel.

I haven't decided what to think of these shoes yet. I live in Montana and we've had a lot of snow lately. They are light enough to put on my pup. They protect the lower part of their paws well from getting small balls of ice between the pads. However, quite a bit of snow got into the show and stuck to her feet. I don't know how big the difference really is. I have to take the time to defrost them after every outing if she wears them.

  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • No instructions

Definitely not worth the money

I ordered these back over the summer to use for my dog this winter as they need to be waterproof. When I first used them my dog started walking VERY slowly and I had to carry him in after 10 maybe 15 minutes in the snow. When I took off her boots her paws were frozen and soaked and it took 2 days for the boots to dry completely! I'm absolutely furious because I bought 2 pairs for over $100 and since I got them when I could afford them I can't try to get a refund now!

  • Great for a small home

Ruffwear Knows Adventure

I needed boots I could count on. I trust Ruffwear with all their outdoor gear for our adventures and when we moved to Minnesota I knew paw protection was a must. The velcro and zipper help keep the shoe on my pup when he's jumping in the snow. (Check again and again that your pup's paws are properly fitted when walking.) I would recommend adding socks/boots to prevent snow from catching around the velcro in deep snow. This is not a problem on cleared paths. Boots protect my pups' paws from the…

Absolutely terrible! on Clothing & Accessories

Our dog always wears shoes. We have about 4 different pairs but we wanted them specifically for the snow as we live in the mountains. I'm so disappointed in how bad they are. First, they are NOT weatherproof. We have used them 3 times and every 3 times our dog came back with raw steaming wet frozen paws. They rub against his toes (including the dew toes), making them red and painful. I have included 2 photos to show what a mess his legs were in when we returned from a short 30 minute walk. We…

Love this product

I bought Ruffwear dog boots for extremely cold weather so my dogs don't have ice balls between their paws when walking in the snow. I also had shoe covers when I first used them. Boots are very easy to put on --- and very easy to take off while walking. Maybe my boots weren't tight enough. But now I only use boots, I fit them well and they work great. The dogs took a little time to get used to it, but boots don't slow them down at all these days! As an added safety measure, after dressing them,

Finally it works and doesn't slip!

If your dog is between sizes, choose the smaller size. My dog was between 2.0" and 2.25". I bought her a size 2.0 because 2.25 is too big. A fun dog walk on a run/bouncy castle is okay at first as it needs to be broken in. This is a very durable product. I recommend labeling each boot so that the same boot is worn on the same paw each time. In this way, the shoe adapts to the respective paw. If you find it cold or difficult to put on your shoes, take a hair dryer and warm them up to shape your…
