Better than stock: shock absorber

This steering damper is twice the size of stock and has a dust cover. It is very well designed and makes a big difference in everyday driving. The stock shock I was experiencing was gone, so I needed something that was both upgradeable and inexpensive. Add a lifetime guarantee and I couldn't be happier. I would say I would buy it again and tell everyone to buy it if you run standard tire sizes and do a lot of road driving.

Pros
  • Fits me perfectly
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Poor quality, short lifespan

I put these on my '97 Wrangler and they only lasted about two months or less than 1000 miles. My Jeep is almost 100% stock, only 31x10.5 tires. It also does not drive off-road because it is used as a third-party vehicle. I was trying to figure out what that little spill of liquid in the driveway was. He asked his wife to start, turned the steering wheel, oil began to spurt. The factory anti-roll bar was still in place and not leaking, I just figured it would probably need replacing after 18…

I bought this because I started shaking and I watched some YouTube videos. Most of my pendant is still tight so I saved it and put it on today. Mine was very weak, original equipment 2003. Only driven a few miles but the wobble is gone, they're still shaking so today I took them out to balance, rotate and straighten. I went ahead and ordered new dampers to fit. The only problem I have is that they don't have any papers at all, the sticker is backwards, other than that it's a very good thing. It

Does not fit spare parts

Supposedly it fits my jeep. This is not the case, at least not with the robust backbone recovery kit I believe it was designed for. It hits pretty much everywhere, differential covers, axle bolts, wishbones. I flipped it, removed the trunk and almost got it to the point where I could steer all the way left, but then it wouldn't go all the way right just because the stock attachment point hits the cross linkage. This may be because the stable Ridge version is slightly larger in diameter, but…

Still going strong after two years.

Installed on my '94 Jeep Cherokee two years ago, still works well, no leaks, feeling like losing steering at high speeds (not a fatal wobble in my case) has eased after installation. Easy to install, no problem. I drove my jeep over very rough terrain and the occasional mud puddle. frozen (mostly) mud mixes. I had never thought about reliability before and even spontaneously wanted to write a bunch of past Revain reviews. I am very impressed, I would buy again. If you have any questions that I…
