Garbage. May cause your boat to sink.

This sucks. The first one I ordered started sticking a week after installing it. Revain sent a replacement and the replacement also started to stick. This is a dangerous situation as the boat could sink if the switch does not work. I had an old model of this switch that worked perfectly before eventually failing.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

Working but not as advertised

Purchased to replace a broken switch. Keep in mind that this one will be larger if you have an old mercury switch. See the photo as I barely had enough area to install the new switch. Also, I ordered the version without the built-in fuse, but I still had the fuse holder. And although the packaging said it came with a detachable base (which would have made installation easier), it didn't.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • I will add later

Works great -- Hope it's durable

I bought this hoping it would use the same holes as the control switch I replaced. Same concept but the old one was a mercury switch. I think they should have made it more for the mercury free design. That's why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. I also wish there was some way of knowing they aren't working before you see your boat sitting lower in the water. I assume some kind of alarm would go off.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No performance

Works perfectly. The in Boating & Sailing

Bilge pump switch replaced (same). I hit him too hard while cleaning the hold with a long-handled brush. Apparently being close to a hot outboard engine indoors makes the plastic brittle. Installed in about half an hour. Cut two wires, strip about 2 inches of insulation, tape the wires together, solder them together, and with some help from a heat gun, shrink them for a secure waterproof finish.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Nothing

Full season with drying cabin. Works perfectly.

I bought a used boat two seasons ago and every morning when I went down to the boat there was water in my cozy cabin. While driving, this water runs off to the rear (through the floor drain) and is discharged by the rear bilge pump. This year I did some research and found corrosion on the bilge pump and float switch in the 'forward' part of the cabin. I replaced them with Rule products and my boat has been dry ever since. No more wet tackle bags underneath.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Problems

These swimmers stink! Last year I bought a new control pan and by the end of the season the switch was out of order. I usually only use liquid soap in the boat shower to reduce suds. Also, I usually put a cap filled with vinegar or bleach down the shower drain to keep the tray clean. Needless to say, the transition fell through after one season. I replaced it and the second one also failed in one season. If you do some research, you'll quickly see that this is a common malfunction.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Vulgarity

This switch sucks. I stick with this brand if I don't want to.

Installed this switch on August 17th instead. The boat is stored on a hoist, covered, no water leakage, the fresh water pump is de-energized. Today they called from the marina and said there was a leak in my boat. When I got there the bilge pump was working. The hold was practically dry, well below where he was supposed to turn. This switch was fried in less than 5 months. I tested it and found that there is a lot of variation in performance through the switch. This switch sucks. I'll stick…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Reliability
