Was on site 3 days

I loved having a side stand on my Giant e-bike. I have a mirror on the left end of the handlebars, so it was a hassle to stow it on that side (preferred because of the shifter on the right). Last night I was driving on the edge of Tahoe and a snowdrift tipped me onto my left side. I got up and kept riding, but when I got to the end of the ride and wanted to lower the footrest, the lower adjustable portion was gone. I realize this was a "strange" incident, but apparently the locking mechanism is

Prone to failure during sports

This stand has two weak points. Bolts, of which there are many, tend to loosen while riding, and loose bolts can cause the footpeg to move and not provide a secure footing. There is a plate that connects the chainstay and seatstays and is made of softer aluminum, allowing the bike to fall onto the footpeg and flex this plate once the bolts are loosened. My bike has suffered cosmetic damage. as a result of stand failure. You must use a hardened steel bridge and plated bolt hardware to secure the

Well made hard stand.

Looks good. The connection with both the chain and the seat keeps the stand and bike firmly in place. I had to bend the stay (which fits between the chainstay and seatstay) to fit the stand to my custom 2005 Stumpjumper. One of the 4 Class 2 screws supplied was removed from the thread with a small torque on the Torx key. All screws replaced with 6mm-1. X 30mm stainless steel alan head. I still gave it five stars because it was a good price, and the $4 stainless steel hardware (vs. 95 cents for…

Who needs a stand? I learned what I did, very happy with the purchase.

I have been riding bikes for over 50 years, in all that time I have never voluntarily bought a bike with a side stand, unless it was a children's bike or my bike had a side stand installed, but never since I moved to Petaluma (last year). Since moving to Petaluma I have been doing most of my grocery or merchandise errands on my bike and soon realized that having a kickstand to support the bike while loading and unloading baskets is a godsend. Kickstands are not all the same, some don't carry a…

IMPORTANT: Allen key NOT included.

Pros: + Bottom line - good solid sturdy footboard + On/Off function + Materials - solid Cons: + Hex wrench not included. Luckily I had it, but I saw this as a big problem for most consumers. Going to the hardware store would be a colossal waste of time which I don't think people have since they shop at Revain from the start. You will need a size 4.5 Allen key. + Assembly instructions are mostly useless + The actual assembly takes some time because 4 different attachment points have to be…

Another lost battle and the conflict is rewarded for a fair decision

I wanted this thing to work; The fact that it doesn't meet the requirements of my stand shouldn't be enough to put you off, maybe here's why: 1.) It arrived on time - via Revain return - I'd wrap it in more bubble wrap but like this is it i ride; I think two goals wasn't enough - maybe one will get what they saved for. 2.) The thing seems to be well made - thicker than I expected - so, as always, Mind Over Matter should use a more conscious weight 3.) As a design concept, the two attachment…

Excellent quality, fairly strong and easy to fit

Just fitted this footpeg to my Schwinn Varsity 1250 700c hybrid bike. The only thing to note before purchasing is that this stand may not install properly on some disc brake systems. For me personally, that wasn't a problem as this bike has cantilever brakes. In my last photo, I'm holding a 5mm hex wrench (the most common size on bikes) a little close to where the brake rotor should be, so you can see the gap is small. Depending on the shape of the frame and the angle of the tubes, I could see…
