Epic Grip! matches fashion sneakers

Bought these shoes for an upcoming ultra (my first) and haven't trained in anything other than standard shoes. Have found they fit perfectly, match my existing Sauconys and are very comfortable. About the same weight too - expect them to be a bit heavier. The main feature I bought them for was the outsole/traction as the trail is mostly dirt/rocky. The grip is great, a big improvement over my standard shoe. Will update to Ultra if necessary to confirm everything is still correct! UPDATE: The…

Great shoe with a constructive criticism of Saucony

First pair of Saucony shoes in a long time. I really liked: PROS: - perfect fit with the right trail feel (some cushioning, but not too much); - great traction! For running/hiking on rocky trails these cleats are very grippy. - Laces are good - sometimes plain is better and flat laces are usually better because the laces don't feel on top of the legs after they swell a little. CONS: - Outsole durability is an issue. I was going to order a second pair because I like them so much. However, the…

Test Trail Running Shoes

I ordered these shoes after being a bit disappointed with the Salomon Men's X Ultra 3 GTX Trail Running Shoes. While the Salomons are good shoes, for $150 I expect great shoes and in that regard the Peregrine 8s are a treat! They fit snugly, have decent flex, and grip like hell on all trail surfaces I've tested, wet and dry. I wear them for hiking and jogging. I was able to run uphill on a wet, mulched trail while staying on the balls of my feet and had no slipping or loss of traction. They cut

Suitable for hiking for trendy sneakers

Overall this is a good shoe. I wore them inside for a few days before removing the tags and wearing them outside. There are a few hotspots, but not enough to cause any problems. I wore them to work during the day to break in again and again. One thing I noticed right away is that they tend to "drift" on smooth and low carpeted floors. I attribute this to the depth and spacing of the traction spikes. This makes any smooth floor slightly greasy. I felt it on the sidewalks and in the streets. If…

Great shoes!: Fashionable sneakers

I'm over forty. My athletic ability and balance are not very good. I decided to start hiking as a hobby because I loved camping/outdoors as a kid and I want to find something I enjoy doing without TV or internet when I'm older. I went hiking this weekend and loved these shoes! They were very comfortable. I ran for over 3 hours and my legs felt great at the end. The shoes got wet halfway through and dried well. Most importantly, I was constantly riding wet/slick/slippery rock and many other…
