Back off 1/4 turn to aerate tank

Only used the tank a few times but so far I like it. Some complain that the tank is not vented. I think it's because like me I didn't read the instructions. To vent the tank, you must tighten the cap until it clicks, then open the bleed screw, then back off the cap 1/4 turn. This should bleed the tank. There is a knob for easy opening of the lid, but I only twisted it until I heard a click. This allows the tank to be vented freely.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Thin

The tank inflates like a balloon due to the ridiculous EPA compliant lid

Tank looks great. To "bleed" the tank, the cap screw is unscrewed completely. However, upon closer inspection, these tanks now come with a new EPA-compliant cap that prevents the tank from venting to atmosphere until the pressure reaches at least 5psi. It doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to cause the tank to swell to the point where it no longer holds its shape, sits flat, and rolls off the stern of the boat. Not to mention that this pressure build up is enough to shift the needles on…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some small things

I have a Yamaha 50/35 2 stroke jet engine and it sucks fuel when I have cargo on board and running full throttle. This tank fits perfectly, with a good low profile design and the dimensions given are accurate. I had problems with the quick connect fuel lines on my last unit and problems with the rubber o-rings failing, so this time I made all the direct barbed…
