Perfect against a 2 year old!

My 2 year old loves to run around the house and shut all the doors. I keep them over the door so I can open them when needed (10,000 times a day). Worked like a charm in locks.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

You wouldn't think you need instructions, though.

I've tried using this internal lock but can't get the key to work. Do not press the inside unlock button. To be fair, this could be, and almost certainly is, a user issue, but given the lack of specific usage instructions, I don't know if there's a "trick" or technique I should be using to unlock the lock.

  • Free for educational purposes

Doesn't work well with my doorknobs.

I bought these because my little one likes to lock doors. I put one over all my doors because I figured it would be an easy way to quickly open doors for a few bucks. Unfortunately this design doesn't work for me. Unlocking the doors is much easier with a small flat head screwdriver. I think the problem is that they rounded the end on these "emergency keys" and are a bit too big as well. I'll probably just throw these out and try to make my own.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Better to have than not to have

I ordered these because my son likes to lock his doors and I don't want him locking behind him and I have no way of getting at him. I think they're definitely overpriced and a simple Allen key could probably work in a pinch, but we have them for most doors. I docked a star because the big circle at the end is ugly and sticking out a bit from the door frame where we keep them and I keep thinking it's a spider lol. A simple little L shape would be fine and not seen if kept over a door.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not sure

The cat opens the bedroom door.

Our cat Kaigo has learned to open unlocked bedroom doors. So we have to lock her up all the time. He still wakes us up at night trying to get into our rooms, but we quickly found that instead of an intruder with a gun, we wake up thinking he's at the door, it's just our cat jumping up to try to open the door. However, now we are desensitized if we are ever robbed. hello cats That's why we often have to lock the doors. It is quite difficult to open the pin locks on our doors with this product…

Works with a little angling

Our 3 year old granddaughter found the knobs on her bedroom and bathroom doors locking them. I managed to find a wire hanger to open the doors, but I needed something designed for the task. I searched a few nearby stores but couldn't find anything so I ordered these. They are strong enough and long enough to reach the locking pin inside the handle. The reason I didn't give this product five stars is that the rod is narrower than a wire hanger and the plunger can be difficult to find. It may…

and his favorite trick is hiding in the bathroom

Nice to find this at Revain. Our house was built 13 years ago and we never got the keys for the interior doors. Until recently we never needed them, so we didn't think about it. But now our little grandson lives with us and his favorite trick is to hide in the bathroom. We wanted to find her before he figured out how to press the lock button. The trick with this key is that you have to put it straight in and feel the resistance of the lock before you push it all the way in. You can easily skip…
