🔧 Schroder RS40064 Ratcheting Tap Wrench: Compact & Versatile 1/4-Inch Tool for Efficient Tapping Review

I've only used this a couple of times since I bought it but I find it a lot easier to use than non ratchet wrenches and I find it more accurate as that Turning the handle does not move the faucet, especially starting the faucet.

Have been using both sizes for a few weeks now. I had to add a few more drops of oil to the turning mechanism and threads as they creaked a bit. much smoother now. Much easier than 12 point sockets and ratchet.

I have a 4.5 inch model. The vise can barely grip half an inch and can grow quite large, over half an inch. I really like the feel of this instrument, it doesn't feel like a cheap crappy instrument. It feels solid when turning and you can get good torque from the push handle. It also fits in tight spaces.

Made in Germany. The ratchet doesn't have many teeth, so you'll have to twist it a bit to catch the next tooth. The "center" at the other end was not the center. It was just a retreat. I dropped the tool in my lathe and inserted a #2 center so I could use my taps with it. That works great. I would give five stars if the ratchet had more teeth.

Not using this tool yet. But I was very happy with this tool. It's easy to use. Holds the beat well. The ratchet was easy to use. I have also found that replacement parts can be purchased inexpensively from the manufacturer's website. I used it to wrap my KLR bike's subframe. .

Well made and keeps what it promises. Good fit and finish, smooth ratchet action. The description doesn't explain that there is also a non-ratchet option, so you can use it as a tight-grip wrench. It was too small for the 6mm STI (Heli-Coil) faucet I bought it for, but it fits a standard 6mm faucet. It would have been nice if a protective cover had been included. After a few broken Chinese made faucet handles I was convinced to spend a little more and get something better. The Schroder faucet handle is much better quality. The ratchet is very smooth and the difference in quality is obvious. They're probably average quality by German standards, but light years ahead of Asian imports.
