The bad thing is that the tire is as fat as it looks.

Fat tires seem extremely puncture-proof. I've been running smooth light tires for the last 5 years but have recently started running rougher/muddy terrain resulting in lots of punctures and cuts so I switched. The bad news is the tire is so fat it feels like it's skidding in corners (maybe a thick tread is rolling), but it rolls easily in a straight line and is puncture resistant, so I like it. Cannot be a tire for a rider consistently going faster than 20-25mph. Usually an average of 17-22…

Ideal for hybrid bike

Bike: 2004 K2 Zed 1.0 Tire size: 26 x 2 inch round, not folded) I could feel the finish. Others have mentioned that these tires aren't exactly light, which is true. But they are strong and have good strong sidewalls. I've had no trouble installing them onto discs without the use of tools. You drive great. I don't ride my bike every day, but I do ride my bike around the neighborhood, on paved bike lanes and sometimes on hard surfaces or gravel. These tires have performed satisfactorily at all…

The best bicycle tires I have ever used.

Item received: Marathon HS420 B/B+RT (Item No.: 11100007). To be honest I didn't know bike tires could be that good! The quality is phenomenal, the ride is so smooth and safe. Borrowing from another review, they are more like motorcycle tires and don't even compare to my previous tires. The old tires were soft, wobbly, and I had them inflated at least every month. Their rolling resistance is excellent, reducing fatigue and giving a safe feeling away from home and/or help. Easy to install in…

Diameter too small to fit rim

The diameter (700c in my case) seems to vary widely on Schwalbe tires due to Schwalbe manufacturing tolerances. Mine was too small to fit on a rim. I put it on anyway, scratching the HED rim and ruining the hose in the process. Schwalbe's website says to use zip ties to compress a tire that's too tight so it hits the rim. It doesn't work on the curb and I don't think it would affect my tires. I have been cycling for over 40 years and have changed many tires, mostly without tools. I know it's…

Worth a few bucks more

I've read that Schwalbe tires are the best, but I've always avoided them because I'm a cheapskate! However, being tired of changing two sets of tires a year and reading a review from someone who had ridden cross country without even changing their Schwalbe Marathon tires, I decided to give it a try. After six months and 1500 miles I'm sold. There is no noticeable tread wear while I would already switch tires to cheaper brands to try and extend their life. All winter I drove on roads that were…

An ideal tire that is puncture resistant but not too heavy or slow.

I ride a recumbent trike every day of my life. I love these tyres. At first WA was a little concerned they would delay me too much but wanted the guards to resist the stickers. I didn't buy Marathon Plus tires because I've had them before and they're heavy and I was SO SLOW on them even though they're more puncture resistant than these. However, they are rated fairly well for puncture resistance. I've been using Schwalabe Tryker tires since they came out around 2011 and I liked them but wanted…

Great tyres! - Sport

Bought these for my Surly LHT 54 CM frame - 2" tires seem to leave a lot of clearance so you might want to increase them. I ride them about 10 miles a day and the extra air volume in them really helps on the bumpy San Francisco roads. Going straight are nice and smooth and there's a very subtle variability (it took me many miles to notice). Cornering, which I think is just the tire tread giving you a little extra traction around corners and corners. My rides are as bad as they get, with…

I bought 2 Schwalbe Marathon GG RLX wired tires (700X28), this is the second set, I've driven 9000 miles with the first one, never had a problem with it. My second set, which I bought on December 22, 2017, I have only driven 1277 miles. The front end blew up on my bike rack after riding 80+ miles of bike lanes the entire trip. I only inflate them to 85psi, the tire is rated at 110psi. Why did it pop against the sidewall, it looks like the tire just came loose from the inside of the tire. At the

Very quiet, very heavy, very comfortable

I'll get back to you with a long-term report on durability and puncture resistance, but first. I have been riding the Panaracer T-Serv for many years because they are supposed to be very puncture-proof, light and fast. However, I was having issues with collapsing sidewalls, so it was time to try something new. The T-Serv's thin and flexible sidewalls were a major benefit, as they meant little resistance to absorbing road bumps for flight. Unfortunately, making it super thin would compromise…
