Description of Schwinn Steerable Beginner Bicycle Training

Great for young kids learning to ride, the Schwinn Grit bike comes with training wheels and easy-steer push handle for added support. The 12-inch wheels are suggested for kids 28 to 38 inches tall. The removable handle allows parents to push and steer the bike while the child is still learning. Includes water bottle holder. Single speed drivetrain is simple for young riders to use and the rear coaster brake (pedal backwards to stop) provide intuitive stops. Quick-release saddle makes for easy, tool-free adjustments, allowing the Grit to grow with your child. The Grit boy's bike comes with 12 inch wheels and wide street tires for a comfortable ride. Removable, heavy duty training wheels provide support while your child learns to ride.

Excellent purchase! Sport

I was skeptical about buying this bike because I wasn't sure how it would turn. We used to have a three-in-one trike that didn't handle or ride well. I decided to buy it for my almost 2 year old daughter. I'm so glad I did. It drives so smooth and turns like a dream. She likes it a lot and thinks she's a big girl even though she can't pedal. I highly recommend this bike. The assembly was also easy.

  • GOLS certified

Terrible quality - don't waste your money

Please don't waste your money on this bike. I never write negative reviews, but this product deserves a bad review. Bought a little over a year ago for my 2.5 year old daughter. The training wheels are so short that it wobbles back and forth, and the whole thing rattles so loudly that the pedals fall off while driving. To top it off, the master steering gear failed after about 6 months of minimal use. Schwinn should be ashamed. I expected much better. Please don't waste your money! Any positive

Good bike, broken parent handle

LOVE this bike but was very disappointed with the parent handle. Perfect fit for my 40 inch toddler. The bike is durable and easy to ride and handle. However, if you use the bike on a bumpy ride, the parent handle will fail completely. I bought this thing because of the handle because my kid is not good at steering and gets tired on long walks. Every time we take it on a bumpy ride the parent handle stops working and we have to turn around and my back hurts lol. Then we both cry. And then I…

Great bike.: Kids Bikes

We bought this bike for our 3 year old after shopping for a while. We don't want a balance bike it can't pedal on, but most of the pushers we've seen were for much smaller kids. This is the perfect size for him. It says age 2-4 but personally I think it's more of a 3-5 year old bike. The handle is detachable, as are the training wheels, so this bike takes your child through three stages of learning to ride. The handle controls the bike very easily. My son loves to ring the bell. It even comes…

Perfect for any level of rider learning

This balance bike exceeded my expectations! Everything for this age group seems to have plastic wheels or non-removable running shoes. If they have real wheels with removable sneakers, they are too big for toddlers and don't have a parent handle. Well, this little Schwinn is not only adorable, but also fits. Our little 3 year old pedals with no problem. A week later he was pedaling himself and knew how to break his back! There's no steering wheel, which is great. It was difficult for my two…

not too durable for continuous use

We live on busy roads. Heavy traffic and busy roads on the sidewalk. 2.8 years like. A little heavy but durable. So check every 6 months. The winter was very cold, so the bike was stored in a warehouse from November 2016 to April 3, 2017. That. Well suddenly the pedals got hard and he came to a complete stop so we have to carry him home. I opened up the pedals and found that the left bottom bracket was completely broken and the right side was loose. I would like to ask the manufacturers…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are flaws

You get what you pay for.

The box arrived damaged and looks like it was damaged during distribution but luckily nothing inside was damaged. The white rubber was obviously new but has turned brown. A bottle of water discolored in the same way and went straight into the trash. Apparently the engineer who designed it never attempted to assemble it. To install all the components, you will need wrenches of different sizes. The bell is similarly poorly designed and clearly "universal". It was set where you had to use your…

Poor quality (fall apart) and poor customer service

The bike was ridden a maximum of 3 hours and the handle mechanism literally broke. After several days of trying to call Schwinn and getting call prompts saying I was calling 36 etc., one day I turned on the speakerphone and was able to talk to someone. The support person had a rude attitude even before I spoke, she was rude, not helpful at all and just mistreated. I live in a climate where the bike season lasts 6 months of the year. Support kept saying sorry, only 1 year warranty. Bearing in…
