It's not ideal. but close

This dash kit is far from perfect, very close, but in a way it is close. This is a very reasonable price considering I could pay $200-$400 for a similar product. I have a 2013 Ford Focus SE sedan and according to the factory market the radio failed within a year of ownership. I was struggling to replace and upgrade my $300 budget stereo. Including this dash kit along with other expenses gets me about $350 so overall not too bad. The dashboard fits in my car with no problems. My biggest…

A Professional Installer's Thoughts

First, it looks a heck of a lot better than the Metra kit. This alone is the main reason to buy this Metra offering. But it's not perfect either. First, mine came with no instructions, although they really aren't needed if you're experienced at installing head units. Also, I have no idea why that little square pictured next to the brackets is a separate part and not just popped into the kit. This is a 4" top screen trim, it mounts on the back and DOES NOT stick at all. I glued it in place and…

Overall good but has issues (used with Apline ILX-W6500)

TL:DR: Yes it can work with Alpine ILX-W650 but you need to do a little more work or compromise. The end product is not 100% perfect but very close and is the best option available in my opinion. In the end I'm happy with it. I hope this saves someone the anger, confusion, and frustration I've been experiencing! Picked this up for my Focus to use with an Alpine ILX-W650. The Metra kit was recommended to me, but I'm glad I researched and found it because it looks so much better and doesn't have…

1000x better than Metra but still has flaws

Much, much better than the Metra Dashboard Kit. First ordered and sent back because it was so ugly. This kit is way better, just one (big) complaint: it leaves a small OEM screen in place at the top! However, this is the focus for a two-DIN radio, which makes it an aftermarket. To keep control of the steering wheel etc you need an interface like the Maestro RR. Maestro needed a plug from a standard small screen to a Kenwood touchscreen head unit, so I was left with a dead screen! Why leave it…
