Hard Brush: Scratch Brushes

For the price these two are just what I needed. I've looked everywhere for a decent tried and tested wire brush. Many said the metal was thin or fell out. Not that, it's a whole piece. The metal is heavier and very durable. No problem if they fall out after intensive use for a few weeks in a row. The design makes it easier to pull the brush towards you rather than push it off (depending on the material). It's definitely made for what I need it for. It is difficult.

Pros
  • Decent Performance

  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Not suitable for medium to heavy cleaning

I used this to clean the tile line around my pool (in ground, shotcrete). The brushes are comfortable to hold and clean, but fell apart on first use (less than 1 hour). The bristles were bent, detached and fell out. I didn't know how many fell out until the next morning I found a lot of completely rusty V-shaped wires scattered across the bottom of my pool. These brushes weren't expensive, but they weren't of good quality. They may be suitable for light work. I would not recommend it.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Obsolete

Poor quality brush, best for abrasives and finishes

The plastic handle is comfortable and stiff but after a few seconds cleaning the tiles and grout in my pool the bristles started falling out and gone down . I'm attaching a photo of the few I could find. When I first unboxed them they seemed to be very good quality at a good price. The lack of connection between the bristles and the plastic, other than the V-curve, makes it feel like "finding a needle in the pool" and being a pool cleaner's nightmare. I would not recommend it.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
