Description of Seachem Reef Buffer - 500g: 🐠 Boost Your Reef Tank's pH and Alkalinity

Raises pH to 8.3. Raises pH and carbonate alkalinity together. pK (8.6) allows for greater pH stability in a reef system where the bio load is significantly more than in a fish only system.

Always a positive result!

I have always used all Seachems additives on my fish and reef aquariums only. I've tried the rest on occasion but always come back for the best.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some cons

The best thing is the price

Works well. The best is the price. I want to preserve my LFS as best as possible, but if you get double the amount for two dollars less than 250g, how can you keep it?

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Not bad

Didn't work - aquarium water treatment

I didn't like this product at all. This will increase the PH he says (by about 0.1 at a time which is good) however the effect was VERY short lived (a few hours at most) before my PH went back to its previous level. Meanwhile, my alkalinity seemed to increase A LOT (over 1 dKH per dose) and stayed high for a very long time.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

By far the best buffer I've found

By far the best buffer I've found. My PH never exceeds 8.32, even right after taking it. I usually use it every two weeks to maintain pH. I use Neptune Apex for monitoring and charting. I started using it due to a drop in my pH (I don't do regular water changes) and I saw an immediate change in coral expansion for both LPS and SPS. Very happy with the stability over time.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Contemporary
