Description of 🐠 Seachem Tidal Power Filter - 35 Gallon Fish Tank Filter for Large Aquariums

FLOW REGULATION: The fully adjustable flow regulation feature on the Tidal Power Filter adjusts performance to a specific aquarium volume, type, or provide an environment for fish that prefer more or less water movement or oxygenation. Adjust the dial from anywhere between 450 gallons per hour down to a gentle 90 gallons per hour. SURFACE SKIMMER: The surface skimmer on the Tidal Power Filter will capture the water from just below the surface, where excreted fish oils accumulate, as well as deeper in the tank to remove floating debris. ADJUSTABLE INTAKE FLOW: With Tidal’s dual intake, it pulls water in through the telescoping pipe below the surface and at the surface through the surface skimmer. Easily adjust how much flow comes from the underwater intake pipe versus the surface skimmer with the intake flow dial. HEATER HOLDER: A heater can be attached to the side of the Tidal Power Filter with an optional heater clip, allowing for better dispersal of heated water throughout your tank or aquarium. MAINTENANCE ALERT: When filtration media becomes clogged with detritus and affects the flow of water, the Tidal Power Filter redirects water around the filter and back into the aquarium through an outlet on the side. The redirected water then pushed up the blue maintenance alert on the top of the filter, signaling that the filter needs to be cleaned.

Canister vibration in hob Filter

I was looking for a new filter after my last one wouldn't start after a power outage. I started researching and found that the tide filter has a submersible motor and also uses a sponge filter along with a basket for other materials. The idea of being able to insert a medium of your choice instead of a cassette was very attractive. I've had this filter for three months now and it works great! The low flow is actually small and very quiet due to the submerged motor. I have also found that I can…

Great if your fish don't get stuck in the slots

Unlike the 55, 75 and 110 tide filters which are great filters, this is far from the case. The reason is that sucking! There is no tube, just slits at the bottom, and the slits are not very narrow. Fish get in there because they are curious and looking for food etc. I lost a small angelfish as a result (a juvenile, just over 1 1/2 inches, had its head pinched, unfortunately it was dead when I removed it since it wasn't an easy task and that alone would have killed him) and two neons. I would…

Very Loud Impeller Noise

Subjectively this thing is at least twice as loud as my same size Marineland filters. The decibel meters on the phone app showed it was running at over 54-58 dB. I replaced it and while the new one is still louder than my old Marineland line filters, it is much quieter than the first one. There is definitely something wrong with the first block. I called Seachem support about the loud impeller noise but was told to leave a message and have not received a response yet. Update March 8th 2021…

Lots of marketing gimmicks

After reading the rave reviews for Tidal, I immediately wanted to buy it. A Tidal filter might fit in a 55 or 110, but the Tidal 35 compartment is too small. They even speak of its qualities as something of a spacious media tray. Tidal 35 has no space for media. From the outside, the compartment appears larger, but once you remove the top, the space inside the tiny white removable compartment is not only small, it also has curves that make it difficult to add your own sponge media…

Pros

Needs modification to improve quality

Pros: You get 4 stars for a sturdy hard plastic box with no ugly garish colors, auto refill after power failure, easy to remove media basket, debris extractor and adjustable flow regulator. (it actually does something) and the included biomedium bricks are all great features compared to the competition. Cons: Contact your Italian manufacturer as the 3rd impeller blade is crappy and stained and has a slight cutting error causing the motor to be unbalanced in the filter housing and making a…

Possibly the best filter for a small aquarium

This is possibly the best HOB filter for a small aquarium. By small I mean tanks under 30 gallons. The Tidal 35 has some outstanding features that make it a great choice for the small aquarium. It is capable of comprehensive filtering: biological, mechanical and chemical. I say "probably" because I haven't tried the latest Marineland penguins. I had an Emperor 400 years ago and threw it away because it was difficult to fill the pump after a water change. I understand that the problem will be…
