Leaky Disaster: Avoid This Connector

Based on our own experience, this thru hull connector is a complete disaster. The installation was difficult and the entire process was riddled with leaks. The only pro is that it comes with a one-year warranty. However, this is not enough to make up for the headache it caused. Do yourself a favor and find a different option when shopping for boating and sailing accessories for your Sports and Outdoors adventures.

Pros
  • Durable and made to withstand harsh marine environments.
Cons
  • Difficult to install without professional help.

The flange cracked while tightening, see photo

I tightened it by hand then I started with a wrench and a latch. Went with the stainless steel and threw it in the trash. Imagine it broke in the ocean.

Pros
  • sport
Cons
  • weak

Looks good except for small scratches on the stainless steel.

This is a solid fitting and with the right sealant it should work perfectly. This fitting is marked 1-1/8" and fits my 1-1/8" ID hose perfectly. My only complaint is that the stainless steel part arrived unprotected and has tiny scratches. Of course, this does not affect the function, but I would prefer a flawless beauty ring.

Pros
  • Boat Installation
Cons
