💾 Seagate 6TB Enterprise Capacity HDD: High Performance SATA 6Gb/s Drive with 128MB Cache Review

I bought this 3 1/2 years ago to assemble my PC. I'm an editor and avid gamer, and I use this disc extensively. I haven't had any performance degradation or file loss over the years. 10/10 would recommend 6TB all day (although I would avoid the 2TB version and the 3TB version as they are statistically more likely to fail for some reason compared to most other drives on the market. Great drive. I received two of these and am using them on a Dell Precision workstation. It's a drive, not an operating system. I don't work in the raid, but the hard drive runs 24/7. In this case it is about 40 degrees Celsius. When transferring 4 TB of data on it, it was up to 45 degrees. The case gets very hot and I added an external fan to keep it cool. Without an external fan, the drives heat up by about 5 degrees (up to 50 degrees when transferring large amounts of data). Seagate states…

Of course, the capacity of the two drives is the same, the interfaces are the same, but their performance is different. And since I needed ST6000NM0024, I ordered it! I bought this hard drive because I used 3TB for things like Windows APPS, games and programs. I usually prefer to keep the C drive free from these programs and mostly use it as boot drive and downloads. This plate was replaced with no problems. What I noticed 1) Decent weight of the drive 2) There is no center screw hole. So make sure you have enough space to mount the drive.
