Best suited for furniture with flat legs.

The chair I bought them for had curved plastic tips on the bottom of the legs. Therefore, when I put the product under the legs, the curved tips hit the center too hard and the product breaks. No product defect. Just make sure your furniture legs are flat first.

Holds my tempered glass chair mats in place

So far they hold my tempered glass chair mats in place well which used to move across the carpet. Made a mod that changed the white glue to a thick transparent double sided glue, now it looks decent under those awesome rugs.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Very expensive

They are NOT suitable for short pile carpet

The product name and description state that it is 3/8" for use on short pile carpet. The package shows 3/8" deep spikes for deeper carpets. Unfortunately I have already split the blocks so I cannot return them for a refund. I think I'll give them away somewhere or maybe just throw them away.

Pros
  • Good Value
Cons
  • Vulgarity

upset. good for furniture fittings

I was excited at first but very skeptical when I read other reviews where people said it's just four small products glued together in a big square and therefore break when you put them be used because of the weight. Guess what happened to mine, all torn and not very strong. I wanted them to just make them one big square, not with those connections. upset.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Not bad

Had high hopes for the hardware

I was really hoping they would hold the rug in place but they don't. The rug is quite thin and light and I couldn't find anything to hold it in place. They would probably work better on a heavier rug or a shaggy rug, but they didn't work for me. Delivery was excellent and the parts themselves are strong and didn't break when walking. I don't regret trying them.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Clarity

Holds a pair of polycarbonate mats in place

Update: One of the eight self-adhesive pads has slipped off. Must be peeled/scraped and adhesive replaced with 3M VHB. -1 Star I have a few polycarbonate rugs that need rearranging several times a day. I stuck one in each corner and tossed it back onto the carpet. The mats haven't moved since then. The only downside, not a downside to this product, is that the handles are white and contrast dramatically against my blue/grey carpet. This usually bothered me a bit, but the fact that they solved…

  • Got it!

Worried about it slipping/shifting when in use? I think I have a workaround.

Many of the comments here relate to people's dissatisfaction with the mat slipping/moving during use. I bought these protective mats from Revain and I hope this solves the problem: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DCWZHYM. The product says it comes with "2" but that means 2 sheets x 4 self-adhesive squares per sheet = 8 total. As shown in my photo you can see the squares through the mat but for my home office I do that don't I don't care I tried to place them so that the weight is evenly…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Too blunt - tiny chopstick marks!

They're probably good for real shaggy rugs, thick sheep rugs, etc., but if you have a deep Persian rug or other thin dense fibers stay away! I'm a "short loop rug" size, but even so, the prongs are very large and blunt - each spike tip is about as thick as the eating end of a finely pointed chopstick. (Or the metal part of a headphone jack, etc.) So with Persian rugs, with their thin, thick pile, you end up with a rug covered with strange indentations. My other carpet protectors are actual…
