Change your photo!

I love this little sketchbook. I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the picture. The picture gives the impression that there are several sketchbooks in the order, but in fact there is only one. This is unethical and misleading.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • For old

Acceptable for fountain pen painting, little water

The paper is good for simple washes but doesn't take on too many layers unless you let it dry between uses which isn't really conducive to urban sketching. This is mixed media paper, not watercolor paper. However, I was perfectly happy with the way he handled the ink. I was able to use my fountain pens in a very comfortable way. I think if I would buy it again it would be for the ink and drying media use. Possibly markers, but that hasn't been tested yet.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Negative impression

Cool product, looking forward to using it

Cool product, looking forward to using it. The paper is very thick, you can draw completely on it. It's a bit thick for sketches, they could make the paper thinner and fit more pages. I know Moleskine is putting out about 80 pages, but the paper is just for sketching. What media you will use depends on what you should get. I was planning on making a sketch so it's a bit much but I'll be happy to use it. Well packaged and received on time.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • No insurance

Lovely little book - best on offer

Great little sketchbook made from heavy paper - and as it's not bound like a book it lays flat to work with. Updated Note: If you zoom in on the image, you can see from this side that it has 8 pages, but it's actually the back cover of the book (you can see it on the cover with an embossed circle with two letters on it). So if you fold it forward, you actually have 10 pages. This is the direction I use it. The paper is thick enough that most media won't leak through to the other side if you…

Accordion Sketchbook

This sketchbook was used for a watercolor magazine workshop in Gran Mare, Minnesota. Excellent execution in pencil, technical pen and light watercolor washes. I preferred a smooth surface and white sides for the outdoor subjects I painted. Others may find it more convenient to use a textured finish and an off-white side color. (You can make your own accordion-style sketchbook out of the paper of your choice.) The size is convenient and it fits easily in my small sketch bag. If you're sketching…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good thick card to paint and paint on with watercolors.

Good thick cardstock, works well with watercolors and other materials. It looks less polished than the Japanese Moleskine Art Plus albums, but that gives it more character, which I like. It's more like what you'd find in an eclectic store that few people know about than Moleskine, which is clearly mass-produced on a large scale. It has fewer panels than the Moleskine, but they are thicker (cardboard, not just paper). Sennelier cloth hardcovers don't have a spine connecting them, so it just…
