short threads: my feedback

A nice looking pipe - but I would say this pipe nipple was at least a thread - probably two short. Pipe threads are tapered and the threads it had seemed to be about right for the outer threads. But after the threaded section there was quite a shoulder on the pipe nipple - and a coupling would screw on totally and then hit the shoulder and stop. If it didn't leak you were in business - if it did, there was no way to get an extra half turn because of the shoulder. We ended up chasing the threads

Pros
  • Good quality product. Not crap Chinese.
Cons
  • Even with a lot of teflon tape, couldn't get a seal.

O.d. of pipe best in my review

Threads are ips, but outside diameter is too large for escutcheon to fit on body of pipe. No leaks, worked. Will look nice in right application, but for a shower arm out of wall or ceiling, not the right application

Pros
  • Not sure what else I could say.
Cons
  • 1/2" of threads . good luck with this stuff . taper is all wrong and threads are galled .

I guess it kinda works

This is just stainless tubing with the threads milled onto it instead of cut with a tap and die.The threads from end to end were different levels of engagement, and i had difficulty getting it to seal properly.you get what you pay for i suppose.

Pros
  • Beautiful!
Cons
  • Threads are not tapered, always leaks.

Poorly machined threads

Nice appearing pipe nipple, but not functional. The threads cut on each end where not equal or sufficient. I was able to force a threaded seal on one end to a gasket connection. The other end needed to make a metal to metal seal. That failed on two different valves. The results were that the piece is junk.

Pros
  • Type: 2 PCS 1/2" NPT x 1/2" NPT Male thread, 2" style is about 50 mm length.
Cons
  • May not meet certain building or safety codes

Great 3/4 " Nipple on my review.

I needed this to assemble a replacement, custom made, nozzle for a portable gasoline pump that is made from a 30 gallon barrel with a hand pump. I use this for delivery of gasoline to my boats that are housed in a covered boat lift on my boat dock. This nipple is what the Dr. ordered for assembling a 1/4 turn, 3/4" ball valve with attached open nozzle. No more leaking from the cheap gas nozzles you buy at the farm supply stores. Never have to worry about corrosion or rust with stainless steel.

Pros
  • As Described. would buy again.
Cons
  • The threads do not taper. They are not NPT. How exactly is it supposed to seal?

Not NPT!: my feedback

If you're looking for a tight seal avoid this pipe, it's not NPT, the taper is far too short and ends in a shoulder that won't let it seat properly.

Pros
  • Made of 304 stainless steel, corrosion resistant ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability.
Cons
  • May be difficult to find replacements or spare parts

used and rusty (one of four)

I ordered four.Three out of four as described. One out of the four looked used, and the inside looked rusty and/or contaminated with some sort of rust or slag. This one did not come in bubble wrap as the other three--consequently, it may have just been a return.I recommend you order extra in case this happens to you. Also, this is 304 SS instead of 316 SS. You may prefer the 316 for potable water applications, but then again, who knows what this is really made from?

Pros
  • Thanks you. Work excellent.
Cons
  • May require regular maintenance or replacement

More brushed nickel than chrome

Mechanically it's fine. It was more of a dull brushed nickel finish than anything resembling chrome. It arrived on time and got the job done though.

Pros
  • Solid piece of piping and looks good too
Cons
  • Leaked, not much taper for a tight seal. Use lots of tape and pray.

Stainless Pipe in my review

This is a nice piece of stainless pipe. It has a polished finish so it's shiny. Others have mentioned using this on a shower. This is a schedule 40 pipe, not a thin pipe like the neck for your showerhead. The threads are the same on both. Good price and looks to be good quality.

Pros
  • Found the size I needed and its perfect.
Cons
  • fast delivery but poor quality Finnish is pitted and scratched.

Total junk - my new review

This product sucked and licked bad along with their valves, I will never buy from this company again I had to throw everything in the trash.

Pros
  • very nice and shall buy again
Cons
  • Poor quality. Requires excessive plumbers tape to seal.

Threading process could be cleaner.

The last step in cutting a thread is to taper the thread start entry. If not cross threading is likely. Or just use your Dremel with a stone wheel.

Pros
  • as described
Cons
  • It cost more to return this product then to keep it.
