DEFECTIVE - T-piece leaking

Easy to install. After installation I noticed 2 small leaks at the T-joint. It was difficult to remove from the tube. These Sharkbites are DEFECTIVE! DO NOT BUY.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Unreliable

Super easy installation, very high quality workmanship

Each installation took literally 1 minute. Mark the depth you need to go to make sure you push it deep enough and that's it. I honestly don't understand why all check valves aren't built that way.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Protection

My husband loves these things

Okay, I don't know about that. However, my husband tells me to order them if he has a plumbing project. The current project is the renovation of the main bathroom. Running plumbing for the slippers I bought and the new double vanity etc. So he says those shark bites are worth it because it's easier for him.

ordered right angles, just received, 1 marriage

I ordered these a while ago and was looking to install them when my old meters were removed. The package was opened when I received them but I just took one look and threw it in the sanitary drawer. I was planning on using these valves last weekend and found that they were straight instead of angled and one of them was missing a screw.

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I believe in: Rough Plumbing

I have to say I was a bit skeptical that these valves would work as I'm used to spending a few hours preparing and soldering a copper fitting. I boiled out the old valve and wired up the copper tubing, put this thing on, attached the hose and turned on the main valve. To my surprise, I didn't have a water geyser splashing everywhere, not really a drop. I am a new convert and I no longer doubt Thomas.

Worked great on PEX

I used two of these to replace leaking poor quality shut off valves on two toilets. Highly recommended. If you're using PEX, watch a video on how to remove the ferrule and old valve without cutting the PEX (using pliers, a small flathead screwdriver, and then a heat gun to easily remove the valve). This helped a lot as there aren't many pipes sticking out of the wall. I didn't have to re-cut the PEX as it was just cut.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Ideal with short ends intact

Works great but be careful. I tried one on a plug where the old compression fitting was over tightened and was dripping. I removed the angle valve, cut off the bad part of the copper plug and installed a new angle valve, no leaks. Here's a hint; The o-ring in the SharkBite angle valve seals approximately 1/4" to 5/16" from the end of the fitting. If this area of your connector has a good finish, it should seal perfectly. It is normal that you can rotate and install the entire valve after youโ€ฆ

What a great product! So easy!

I was renovating the master bathroom and while removing the sink and vanity I noticed that one of the faucet pipes under the sink was slowly dripping even with the valve closed. I have PEX pipes coming out of the walls so I had to buy a PVC pipe cutter to remove the old valves. Well after reading all the positive reviews on this product I decided to take a chance and see if it's as good as people make it out to be or if it's just hype. I proudly announce. WITHOUT REALITY ALL TRUTH! This wasโ€ฆ
