Good Quality best in my review

6 different grades of flat files. I used them extensively for a project (on steel & aluminum) and they have held up extremely well. No breaking, no bending, no loss of grit. Great set to have on hand.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • May not be suitable for precision sharpening

Great file set on my review.

I always misplaced or lost my hook sharpener, so I put couple of these in my tackle box, great for sharpen hooks, I'm sure they're good for many use.

Pros
  • very good
Cons
  • Sharpening with a file may take longer than other methods

Did The Job in my review

Contractor said the blanket style Ikea handles couldn't be cut to the size I wanted. I did it myself and then used these files to smooth out the slightly rough edges. Great little tools.

Pros
  • 100% satisfaction
Cons
  • Files may become clogged with debris during use

Great value on my review.

I didn't expect much from these inexpensive files and the construction looks "cheap", but they work extremely well. I use them for making bassoon reeds. The coarser grits remove material quickly in a controlled way and the finer grits make things smooth. These are my first diamond files and I like them better than steel files. They don't tear the wood, they're slow to clog, and when they do, they can be rinsed off with water. I bought two additional sets to give to other double-reed…

Pros
  • Versatile and adaptable to different tool sizes and shapes
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other sharpening methods

Great value!: my feedback

I had some cast iron free weights delivered that had some jagged edges and rough spots in the grips. These files made quick work smoothing these defects out. Worked much better than I expected.

Pros
  • Suitable for use on a variety of materials including metal, stone, ceramics, and glass
Cons
  • May require protective gear to avoid injury during use

You'll Be Reaching For These A Lot

I find myself reaching for these files a lot. I wish they had a thinner edge to allow getting in even tighter spots, but that's nitpicking. A great addition to my shop to be sure.

Pros
  • Works great as expected.
Cons
  • Its okay, but you get what you pay for.

Good to Have: my feedback

Ordered these to file chips on glassware and dishes. Seems to do a pretty good job; however, I haven't used them too much.

Pros
  • Includes a vinyl pouch for easy storage
Cons
  • Could be seen as an unnecessary purchase by some consumers

Perfect set of grit selection.

Been looking for a 40 grit diamond file, that wasn't really expensive, for a long time. This kit not only has the 40 grit (for really fast metal removal - for shaping operations), but also perfect gradation of grit to the very fine 600 grit file. Using this spectrum of grit grades, I've been able to roughly shape hardened knife blades and leatherman tools, then -going through the entire grit range of files- end with a polished (ending with the 600 grit file) finish; which can be made mirror…

Pros
  • Affordable and cost-effective sharpening solution
Cons
  • Could be difficult to transport or store
