Description of 🚲 SHIMANO PD-M530 MTB Pedals

Shimano pedaling dynamics - spd performs whether you're on or off the bike; makes pedaling more efficient with a wide variety of shoe and pedal styles; and the recess cleat makes walking more comfortable. Innovative - by eliminating toe-clips and integrating the pedal and outsole into a single; unified power transfer system; shimano changed the industry. Incredible performance - spd not only boosting power to the pedal; but also the rider's control over increasingly adventurous styles of riding. Better control - you can pedal with greater efficiency; stability and comfort with the spd system. Superior mud-shedding design - an open binding design allows mud and debris to be flushed out when the rider steps in.

This is a double-sided pedal that accepts SP-51 or SP-56.

This is a reversible pedal that accepts SP-51 or SP-56 cleats. It comes with a pair of 51s, which are single exit cleats. From a practical standpoint, there isn't much of a difference between the cleats since most people step out in the same direction anyway (heel rotates outward). The delivery was quick too. No complaints. 2 thumbs up. And they come in pairs, it's not just one pedal.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Out of style

Big platforms are great. 2 ordered. Few.

I've been using Shimano SPD platformless pedals for many years and decided to try them on my mountain bike. So nice to have an extra platform. I had more watts on the pedals and didn't feel my sensations crashing around the spindle as I stood up. I ordered a second set for my gravel bike. Great deal at a quarter of the price of a new XTR. The only downside is a little heavy, I'm not fat.

best choice for parts and components

I had an XT-Spd, pedal stuck - first ride! curved stem $100 I had a $100 Flat Speed XT pedal combo hit, I think my front shock was low but the XT spindle flexes really easily. The m530 pedal size allows me to snap or do awkward things when the arch support is just clipped with bolts. Shimano's other plastic cage and cleat combo combo pedals don't allow for a clean exit, which is annoying when I'm looking down a cliff when it hurts. (but they are lighter)

Strong pedals, no complaints.

This is my second set of these pedals. The first set was stolen along with the bike they were installed on 🙁 But they worked so well I decided to get another set. The double-sided feature might make the pedal more difficult for some, but I never have to worry about the right side facing up. I just click and go. The pedals are well balanced so they always point up. Straight out of the box the tension settings are set correctly, there are even "R" and "L" letters on the pedals to indicate the…

  • Sturdy design

  • Slightly wrinkled

Easy to install and use. Much more power when cycling

I was initially nervous about the clip on pedals but glad I took the plunge. They are extremely easy to install and set up. Make sure you have an Allen wrench to adjust, but I think most cyclists have one. These pedals are perfect for my Trek FX-1. If this is your first time, be sure to practice getting in and out before driving next to a wall, and then practice on a flat grassy area. It didn't take me long to get used to them before I realized I cut them without even thinking about it. It's…

Great pedals without clips.

These are my first clipless pedals and I am very glad I bought them. I bought two sets and used them on my fat bike, 29″ hardtail and full suspension on various single trails. I'm not worried about saving a bit of weight here and there, so I bought it with all-round protection with no clamping mechanism to protect against rocks etc. If you haven't used clamps before, relax the tension completely so you can get your legs out as soon as possible. I have flats, not clips. When you're riding trails

  • Decent performance

So far, so good. Bought to complement my Shimano CT500 shoes

So far so good. Bought these to complement my Shimano CT500 shoes. It took maybe 10 minutes to master clipping and clipping. Once inside, your shoes will stay in, even in the loosest fit. I've always been a little nervous about clipless pedals and still use trap pedals with toe clips, but after 15 minutes on the road they felt great. and secure on the climbs and seemed to make me perform better (but that could be a placebo effect). The only odd thing I noticed was that the shoe seemed to move…

  • Stylish and modern design
Cons

Consistently good quality from original Shimanos

My wife and I use them for road biking so they are easy to remove but I have never had them pop out under power so why would I want an SPD-L to buy? When are you perfect for me? After all, I'm not Chris Froome. Easy to fit and tighten, never a problem and withstands a variety of conditions including mud, road salt, dirt, rain and sometimes intermittent cleaning on my part - much easier to clean the entire bike. and forget the pedal hardware. They seem to be beasts when it comes to durability…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Has imperfections

Great for beginners

I bought these pedals a while ago but didn't immediately mount them on my bike. I've never used clipless pedals and was concerned that if I didn't release my foot in time I would become clumsy starting and roll over. I finally switched pedals a few weeks ago to get some practice. and then go back to my old commuter toe clips until I'm comfortable with the new system. i was too worried They're very easy to snap in and out – in fact, my foot usually snaps on its own on the first strike or two…
