You can feel the improvement

I had to replace all the shifter cables and housings so I decided to replace the brake housings and cables as well. The difference to the cheap stock cables my bike came with is clearly noticeable. Easy to install if you have the right tools.

Doesn't generally fit a bad description.

Only has one cable type and does not match the bike I was trying to restore or any of my bikes. According to the description, everything is included, but only for the right brake type. I will say this is a great baby and great for swapping front and rear brake cables. Also a great yellow.

Typical Shimano quality part

Simply the best brake cable you can buy. Durable between replacements. The low stretch means you don't have to go back and adjust the brakes after the first two uses. Use a good quality casing cutter to avoid crushing the casing. Many colors are available. I use white on my road bike, gray on my wheel bike and black on my gravel bike. Lots of great kilometers from everyone.

  • Not bad

Works great, like ALL! Cable housing, use a short "sacrificial" length of old cable so the housing is not severely crimped, then use an ice pick to smooth the burrs on the cut/crimped end. The basic black body is fine, but I'm glad Shimano offers these unique colors (not just for style, but for quick bike identification in transitional areas OR just insanely crowded college racks).

Cables and housing are of good quality and work well. There was enough cable and housing for my street frame with side brakes. I don't believe the cable is PTFE coated (like the description says) rather they have standard (stainless steel?) steel cable and a PTFE liner. Corps. Teflon coated housings make a world of difference in how your brakes feel. You still need to lubricate the cables, but the PTFE liner lets them slide with very little friction. I preloaded the cables by squeezing the…
