The 11T-28T gearing is great for relatively flat riding.

Moved from 14-28 to this 11-28 on my road/commuter bike in an area with relatively flat terrain. Now I can take advantage of moments when I feel energetic without having to turn a lot and use medium gears for small hills and not very light headwinds. Shifting is clean and quick. I currently use this shim cassette on 11 speed hub and Tourney derailleurs with no problems.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Repair

Great cassette, solid construction.

Great product, rock solid. I'm so glad I have 34 in my back now. I set this up for steep hills that I literally couldn't climb before. Cassettes today are usually made of the same tough material. No need to spend more for a good quality cassette unless you are a Tour de France competitor. This is a great durable product that is easy to work with if you have the right tools. Don't hesitate, buy it now.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Traded in

11-34T photos in cassettes and ratchets

Not installed yet but wanted to share pics of 11-34T. You will only see 7 gears as the 8th - the smallest - is also a locking ring. Basically I want to show the jump to the highest gear / lowest gear - 34T. Just looking at the cassette it's a big jump between 1st and 2nd gear and I'm wondering if I should have stopped at 32T. I'll try to come back with some impressions after a few trips but thought it would be helpful to just add photos for others to look at.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Damaged

Great cassette but not durable.

This is the second cassette I have bought for my bike in about 13 months. It works great but isn't designed for hard riding. I ride all year round in all weather conditions (temperatures from 100F to -11F, rain, snow and everything in between) and I only use the two heaviest gears (my commute is all small hills). The 2 sprockets I used are separate from the remaining 5 sprockets on the cassette so they broke which is why I had to buy this second set.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Excellent and good value

Very happy with this purchase. Bet on a 1997 Specialized Rockhopper. The original was quite worn, as was the wheel it was mounted on. When I broke the spokes and changed the wheels, I changed the cassette at the same time. Most wheels are designed for 8/9 speed cassettes, so if you are building a 7 speed cassette you will first need a spacer that slides over the wheel's splined hub (inside the cassette). Revain sells them. However, my old bike shifts great with this cassette. Very satisfied…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great cassette for my mid 90's Trek MultiTrack hybrid bike

Great cassette for my mid 90's Trek multitrack hybrid bike. I ride the city streets almost every day and my chain is getting too long. I exchanged the chain and immediately regretted it because the new chain jumped off my three favorite rear sprockets - always at the worst possible moment. I bought this cassette and left it where the old one was and with a slight adjustment to the derailleur I was back in action with a fully working bike. Very easy do-it-yourself repair if you have a cassette…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Faulty

Made my 1996 Trek 850 like new

Quality, easy choice to replace Shimano 7 speed rear cassette. Shifts great! I bought my Trek 850 mountain bike new in 1996. In the meantime I have converted it into a city bike. After riding thousands of miles I replaced the worn chain and with the new chain the bike started to run WORSE. The chain jumped under the strong rotation of the pedals. This meant the rear cassette was worn out from mileage, sand and a stretched chain. I bought this item as a replacement. I'm totally impressed. With…

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Some bugs

34T # for cycling

I am a mountain bike and wanted to replace my 11-32T 8spd with something that could ride uphill better. The original cassette was 32-28-24, this one was 34-26-23. 34T is good but unfortunately 26 is too big of a leap and doesn't fill the performance gap like my original cassette. I saved it anyway so I can "hot swap" my rear wheel depending on what track I'm riding that day, heh 34T and 26T. I usually use 34T when climbing and when I reach the apex I find that jumping to 26T suits my cadence…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Negative present

Nice update in the sports department

I used this for my son's bike restoration project. It replaced the 13-28T 7 speed. Very glad you have this option for a small ring and a bit more top speed if you need it. The second ring provides 13 T, so 11 is just an option here. I never understood why they didn't increase the sprocket range when they went from 5 to 7.8 or 9. I never felt like I had a problem with a big jump in the middle, I just always wanted more bandwidth at the edges. . This asterisk represents a small portion of this…

Pros
  • This is great
