⚓ Galvanized Anchor Chain by Shoreline Marine Review

Galvanized? Not enough. Rusted after only a year of use. Do not buy this if you will submerge it in salt water. Probably not suitable for fresh water either!

Complete crap. Worst electroplating I have ever seen and after every ride I wipe it all down with salt. Now my locker and ropes are covered in rust.

I bought four feet, it seems to be a good chain. No shackles are included, so prepare to shell out another ten bucks for them if you need them. I will update after our next boat trip if there are any issues.

I have a slip ring anchor that I use on an 18.5ft boat. Using the rope directly to belay will not work. The anchor pulls up and doesn't hold well on the seabed. This chain is heavy, it holds the anchor down and digs into something hard. I bought 5/16", which is one size heavier than the recommended 1/4". I also bought a 3/8" shackle to tie the chain to the anchor ring. Shoreline Marine appears to be producing better than traditional products.
