Disappointingly good scissors knife

I have a few Shun knives and am very happy with them. I've been using old IKEA kitchen scissors to butcher chickens (i.e. cut out the backbones) and thought it was time to update them. I bought Shun shears thinking they would easily cut chicken bones. Wow what a disappointment. Totally useless for the chicken. I put these scissors in a drawer and haven't used them since. I should have returned but it's too late.

Identical to Kershaw Taskmaster

Looks like a good pair of scissors. The handles are not very comfortable. Haven't used them yet because I will be sending them back for a refund and keeping the Kershaw scissors which are exactly the same as Meiden. I didn't research beforehand, but Shun is made by Kershaw. Maybe the avoidance is made of higher quality steel, but you think it's advertised. Save $13 and just buy a Kershaw. Vote if you don't want to pay too much for another label!

BEWARE of blades MADE IN CHINA

Just received DM7300 Made in Japan kitchen scissors. I was very unpleasantly surprised to see a sticker on the back of the box that reads BLADE MADE IN CHINA in small print. So only the pens are made in Japan? "Made in Japan" advertising is misleading. Only the handles of their expensive knives are made in Japan and not the blade? This was my first Shun purchase and may be my last. Now I don't trust either their products or their advertising. When you lose trust, you lose trust.

Exactly what I needed.

I've been using thick regular scissors in the kitchen for a while and they were perfect for replacing them, you don't need screwdrivers on the handles you'll get used to manoeuvring. It tends to slice through thinner bones and tougher skin. This is very accurate when making sure your cooked cuts are firm. It works really well with the veg and fruit I've used it on, I would definitely recommend it, I'd recommend washing it after each use no matter what and also be sure to wipe it down and then…

Look no further for Kitchen Scissors

Sorry I haven't bought this for a long time. I needed new kitchen shears and saw a recommendation for these from Cook's Illustrated. I didn't like the metal sticking out of the handles so put off buying them. But after using it for a few weeks now, I'm thrilled. They are well made and well designed. They also disassemble for cleaning, which is a must. But in use there is no risk of the scissors coming loose, as was sometimes the case with my old Wüsthof. The only downside is the price. It can…
