Description of Sierra Pacific Engineering Stainless Steel Tie Down D-Ring, 6,000 lb. Capacity, Surface Mount, Set of 4 Tiedowns

This listing is for 4 Stainless Steel D-rings featuring a strong 5,000 lb. rating (straight pull). WLL is 1,667 lb. capacity* (see below for explanation). The material is 304SS (cold working stainless steel) per JIS G 4305:2012. There may be a slightly stronger magnetic reaction on the surface or close to the stamping edge, typically observed in cold working parts. Designed to withstand harsh environmental elements. They are ideal for outdoor use, especially in a marine setting. These d-rings will never rust. Don't be fooled if over time there are brown surface spots, this is generally caused by atmospheric iron. *RATED CAPACITY: Also known as "assembly capacity" or "break strength" is the minimum load a complete assembly can withstand before failure in a laboratory pull test when the product is new. WORKING LOAD LIMIT: The maximum load weight a tie-down should be subjected to during normal use. To assist in making the proper tie-down choice the Federal D.O.T. requires the W.L.L. to be 1/3 of the Rated Capacity. The 3/8 diameter ring measures 2-1/4 wide x 2-1/4 long on center. The TOP CAP is 1/8 thick. It measures 1-3/16 wide x 3-1/4 long, with 3/8 holes on 2-5/16" center. (See schematic in second image). To get a comparison feel for the size of the d-ring in relation to other d-rings please see the third image provided. Hardware required for installation - 3/8" carriage bolts, washers and locking nuts. Stainless Steel hardware would be ideal creating an attachment that is 100% rust and corrosion resistant. Bolt length determined by application.

DURABILITY and NON-CORROSION

These D-Rings are an add on to my cargo trailer body. I can use it to secure almost any load. Last week I strapped on a Cummins six-cylinder diesel engine with ease. The D-rings are made of non-magnetic stainless steel and prevent rusting. Very important.

Looks good so far - Bed & Tailgate Accessories

Ordered these to attach the left hand points to my compact tractor front loader bucket. Your rating should be good for the things I choose, which usually cost between £450 and £600. The relatively light weight of the ladle metal allows for stud welding. Bolting also offers more flexibility in anchor placement. They are in place with the help of stainless steel bolts and anchor nuts, but I haven't used them yet. This lack of actual use keeps my rating at four stars.

Cons

Sturdy, reliable, as advertised

This product is exactly as advertised. They were installed as attachment points on a pair of custom designed skids/pallets to haul heavier and larger loads (motorcycles, ATVs, lawnmowers) in trailers with unknown, unreliable, or missing attachment points. The winch straps were used through D-rings to secure the cargo. This is good value for money: durable, well made, reliable. There were no burrs on the inside of the D-rings to cause wear on the straps, which was my biggest fear when I bought…
