Okay, but beware of the flash mount.

I actually had to buy this as a replacement as the bracket on the first one I bought recently broke. The plastic mount is the Achilles tendon of this and many other breakouts. Still trying to get a spare! Otherwise, it's a good, if not outstanding, flash. It's actually a bit more advanced than my experience. The learning curve is quite steep for me, now that I understand some of the settings and how to use it I'm glad to own it. I can't wait to replace the brackets as I am sure they will break…

good quality, worth the price, powerful, good enough for basic use

This is the second Sigma DG Super I've bought. I once broke a hot shoe on my last EF-600, which I bought almost 10 years ago, when I dropped the camera on a rock. But it's very easy for me to buy a kit from Sigma and replace it myself (only about $30). It still works great but unfortunately not on my new 6D. The new model is similar to my old one. At least for the features I used. The new one is even stronger. It comes with many features. But I have to say that many of them are not that user…

Very good flash at a great price

I'm a portrait/wedding professional, our full time studio shoots a lot of weddings and that's why we use this flash. We have a couple of Canon 580 flashes that work great, but being a budget guy I'm always looking for something cheaper. I have made several Nissan flashes for Canon but I found them to have a terrible AF assist light. The Nissan is almost useless in dim lighting where the camera can't autofocus. With the Sigma EF-610 it's the other way around, the AF assist is as good or better…

Great product, best product in category Camera & Photo

I bought this product because my 580EX2 was starting to go crazy. Not having the means to afford another 580EX2 or 600EX-RT at the time, I did some research and decided to purchase a Sigma EF-610 DG SUPER. I've read reviews that Flash seems cheap. I disagree, it looks good and feels good. We've gotten so old that we consider Canon products to be standard (and with good reason). So if it doesn't look or feel like canon, it's no good. The plastic battery cover was another issue for other…

Good flash! - Flashes

I bought this flash a few months ago and am very glad I chose it. I'm not a pro and I still have a lot to learn about flash photography, but I've found it works well for most of my jobs. I love how easy it is to program the flash output (1/1 to 1/64) and the guide number is impressive (61m/200ft), although I think it's a bit more than that, what you actually get (I've heard that same goes for all other breakouts). I am also impressed by the advanced features of this flash such as TTL wireless…

Very happy with this well made flash.

This powerful flash works great with my Sony Alpha 850. In addition to all the standard features, you can use multiple flashes in one picture (for a stroboscopic effect of a moving object on a still background) and you can set the number of flashes and the Adjust the speed at which they fire during an exposure. It's also easy to increase or decrease the intensity directly from the Sony camera. Also great for aperture priority or shutter speed or manual mode and certainly not having to think…

Great replacement for the mid-range Canon/Nikon/Sony counterpart

If you're looking at this flash, you're probably looking for a cheaper alternative (or just another) to the brand's equivalent flash. I bought this instead of the Canon Speedlite 320EX for my 6D, which I was comparing the price to. I don't have a Speedlite flash so I can't offer a donut-to-donut comparison, but unless you insist on same-brand compatibility I find it works pretty well. The flash is powerful enough for its price and has many features and settings, including wireless control. This

Unreliable for wireless

available For reference, this was tested on a Nikon D7000. Comparisons were made with the Metz AF 50. After swapping between this and the Metz AF 58, I decided to give the Sigma a try. The delivery was quick and the case and stand are good. A wide range of motion when tilting the head and turning is good. It can rotate a full 180 degrees clockwise and 90 degrees counterclockwise, and also has a fairly standard up and down range of motion. The screen is good, the backlight is nice too. However…
