Terrible quality Ethernet adapter

Based on my observations, this adapter is poor quality and had inconsistent connectivity. The only pro was it was cheap, but it's not worth the hassle. The con is that it kept disconnecting and slowing down my internet speeds.

Outstanding performance, easy installation

I bought this to replace an Apple Ethernet USB adapter that left a colleague's desk (Apple peripherals are always in demand). In any case, the performance is good and the installation on a 2015 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.11. Will definitely buy one of these next time I need to replace a missing Ethernet adapter. Finally, while the boot element around the USB port appears a bit large in product photos, it doesn't interfere with use of the adjacent Thunderbolt and HDMI ports.

The perfect plug-and-play Gigabit network adapter. Suitable for Macbook Pro without blocking the Thunderbolt port!

I received this because I needed an ethernet connection at my average 15MBP, but I also need to use both Thunderbolt display ports for monitors so I can't use my Thunderbolt ethernet adapter. I wanted a USB 3.0 full gigabit network adapter that I can use and that works great. I get exactly the same file transfer speeds on my gigabit network as I get on my desktop, so it absolutely delivers the speed I expected.
