Susan Bates Circular Needles - Size 1

The company I ordered from was quick and I received the needles in just a few days. Number 1 needles are very thin. The product was what I expected, but the needle tips were very sharp (more than needed) - like a sewing needle. After filing the tips with a small emery file, which was easy to do, they were much more satisfying and usable.

Pros
  • Complete Set
Cons
  • Waiting Too Long

Plastic! Curved cord

I know this has been mentioned in other reviews but just one more note to point out that these needles are PLASTIC and not PLASTIC are metal as shown. No matter what I tried, the cord would not stop twisting, even when knitting in the round. The ends aren't very pointy, so if you're working with thinner yarn you may have trouble picking it up. It worked for me though, just wish they were metal.

Pros
  • These needles have a pastel anodized aluminum shaft
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Knitting Up A Storm

Half the knitting time with these needles with a little effort. My Lions brand needles broke - the clear tube kept pulling out of the plastic needle causing me to nearly lose stitches on a number of occasions. I hope that doesn't happen with the Bates brand. My only complaint is that the tube doesn't spin well despite repeated efforts. You need to stop and spin the pipe from time to time to complete the row. Otherwise there are no complaints.

Pros
  • Each pack contains 2 needles plus cable
Cons
  • Little things

Plastic Needles, Curved Cable

It is important to note that these needles are plastic. It doesn't bother me that much, but the picture is definitely deceiving. I really enjoy working with Susan Bates hooks and have had no problems with cords on my aluminum circular needles, but this cord is VERY curved. I've tried soaking it in boiling water, which loosens it up a bit, but it still curls up in the middle of a project. It definitely takes a toll on my hands because I have to deal with it all the time.

Pros
  • Clear Plastic Cable
Cons
  • Wrinkled
