This hub does not control fan speed. It has a cable with a 4-pin header attached that needs to be connected to the 4-pin fan header on the motherboard. I have tried connecting it to both 4 pin headers on my MOBO and in both cases the fans are all running at full speed. Changing the MOBO BIOS settings has no effect. I really like this product, it can split a fan header into 8 and doesn't consume power from your motherboard. If possible I would give minus 5 stars. None of the 4-pin PWM fans I connected to the adapter worked at all. They didn't turn. I have tried one fan for each of the 8 adapter inputs and several different headers on the motherboard including the CPU fan header. Looks like a great little fan hub. But it doesn't work for me. I have an ASUS Maximus VI Hero motherboard. When I connect 4 pin PWM fans to it and connect the Silverstone to one of my 4 pin chassis fan headers (1, 2 or 3) all my fans just run at full speed.
