Perfect for brooder

Used in our makeshift brooder (disused pack and play. Thermostat can be used with any lightbulb. It's amazing and has helped prepare my chicks to go outside!

Pros

Cons
  • Minor issues

I've only had it a month but great so far

Works great. It works 2 degrees below the set temperature and 2 degrees below the set temperature. Generates a lot of warmth in my quail rearing. Just make sure the thermometer is in a clean area in front of the bulb.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • boring packaging

I might have a lemon

I bought this for my hedgehog cage, I already have 2 other brands but decided to try this due to price and availability. I wasn't impressed. The thermostat is capricious, to say the least, it will work for a while and then stop. I spent over a week getting the bulb, lamp, and thermostat together to ensure consistency, but ended up having to replace the thermostat with a different one. I might get a bad one, maybe it's not normal, but my experience wasn't good.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • A bit wrinkled

Do not buy, it may cause a FIRE!

So I bought this to keep a surviving quail chick warm. I did my research and this product seemed decent. But the product has terrible clip design. So don't understand. The lamp fell into the chick cage where the bedding was and the chick cage caught fire. And all this happened while everyone was sleeping. Luckily, I smelled smoke and acted quickly. The bird survived too, now it's grown up and free. We named him Smokey. But I don't recommend buying a pair of heating pads, they are much better.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Without machine

Thermostat not reaching heating temperature

Received this because I was told it would be good for my reptile group. I need it to monitor a 75 gallon 48"18"19 3/4" snake enclosure. This enclosure is closed at the top and coated on three sides to keep moisture out. There shouldn't be any reason to why this thermostat can't reach 87F. It's only between 76-80.5F. It will only decrease. I had another thermostat before and it worked without any problems. However, it was quite old and needed to be replaced. On top of that, it was easy to set up

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Empty
