Has no internal metal dust cover

This gasket is designed for the external duct on the 98-04 f250/excursion; However, this is not a seal with an internal metal dust cover. If you need this seal number 28603.

Oil seal failure in spares

Replaced both front axle outer oil seals on a Ford F350 in November 2019 (20 months and approximately 12,000 miles ago). Recently while lubricating the front end I noticed that the outer rubber band was hanging from the passenger side seal on the axle propshaft. The driver's side seal looks good. For now I consider it a failure of one seal and hope the other one continues to work properly. SKF has to replace my seal due to poor quality.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Perfect fit 2002 f250 front axle.

Factory seal, 2002 f250 Superduty. Thank you Revan I bought the tools to install the infill. I'm not sure how you would have done without it unless you have a lot of experience or I've thought about it too much. A thin film of red grease helped with this, I did this after putting the shaft back into the diff. I couldn't find any information on how to do this. It seems to have worked. made sure i started with a square shape, a small brass rod will do here,

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some faults

Buy installation tool!

Be sure to purchase an installation tool so you don't damage the print like I did. I've been told that installing an axle oil seal is easy so you don't have to spend money on an oil seal installer. After bending the gasket I took a picture and sent it to the mechanic who told me it was easy to install. Did he say what seal it is? He thought I was talking about the gasket at the end of the axle housing. The tool costs $60, which I think is work. I managed to push the seal and so far it's…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • There are imperfections
