【DESIGNED FOR SONY A7C】The lightweight Camera Cage 3081 provides accessory mounting and protection for your a7C mirrorless camera. It maintains access to the camera's controls and hot shoe. 【ANTI-TWIST DESIGN】The cage 3081 secures the A7C camera via a 1/4"-20 screw on the bottom and an m2.5 screw on the right side to further prevent twisting. An Allen wrench stores on the bottom via a magnet for tightening the camera screws. Also, rubber padding on the base is designed to protect the camera. 【FORMFITTING FULL CAGE】As a form-fitting full cage, this A7C cage is lightweight and compact. Additionally, the lightweight and ergonomic design is able to boost the grip experience to the greatest extend. 【MULTIPLE MOUNTING POINTS】It features a variety of mounting options. Need better design with real A7C

Unfortunately this is very poorly designed for A7C. The battery door does not open wide enough when the cage is on to change batteries. The top bar of the cage also runs right over the record button, making it harder to press to start and stop recording.

Perfect build platform

Perfect for my A7C! I had to remove my 50mm lens to attach it, but you can mount it with a smaller lens. The magnetic holder is perfect for tool storage, just make sure this piece doesn't get next to one of your memory cards when you put your camera away.

Strong Arca Swiss protection and mount for my Sony A7C.

Very nice cage for this camera! It adds a layer of impact protection and has an Arca Swiss mount on the bottom. You can attach a tripod plate to either side, effectively turning the thing into an L bracket. A few other reviewers complained about the inability to fully open the battery door with the cage attached. I noticed that too, but the camera battery can be charged without removing the battery, so for my needs. This is a small problem.

Bad design. You cannot use the battery door to remove the battery while the camera is in the cage!

The A7C can be safely mounted on this cage, but the buyer should be careful. You didn't make the back of the frame around the camera's battery compartment big enough to open the battery compartment with the camera installed. Can you imagine having to disassemble a camera with a monitor and microphone by the cage just to insert or replace the battery? It was a deal breaker for me. I can't believe Smallrig makes and sells this cage. I am returning the cage for a refund. I don't think anyone has…

Excellent cage AND - battery door WORKS

Just wanted to chime in as I've seen some reviews saying the battery door doesn't work and won't open - there is a hex socket head screw that you need to remove (only one) which would otherwise prevent the camera from entering from the right side (it's next to the exposure dial and strap eyelet on the A7C). Just pull it out, the battery box works fine, store it or install it outside the cage. Plus it's a great cage. Plenty of attachment points, an eyelet for a wrist strap, good enough, and one…

Fits like a glove! But one big downside

I bought this not only to help with attachment to my 7c but also to provide protection and better grip. I mainly use my camera for video, so photographers may have a different perspective. First remove the tiny D-rings from either side of 7c. For video users, they have a constant tone anyway. Then remove the small screw on the right side of the cage. Then remove all the lenses from the body 7c and attach the body to the bottom screw. Then screw in the small screw on the right side of the cage…
