Smittybilt 97281-98 Black Winch Cover featuring Smittybilt Logo Review

I thought about returning this after receiving this and noticing it wasn't working for other customers with the X2O 10k winch. However, after looking at it, I just untied the knot and moved to where it belongs. Instead, two longitudinal lines (for each thrust) recede. I moved the inside corner to come out on the back.

Looks good banging a girl. The problem is turning it on. Has two ties. One on each side. They run towards the middle and have cords that run under both sides but towards the middle of the wench. If the coupler is mounted with very open/free access to the ends, it will be cumbersome to install. But with a wench sunk in the bumper, it's a serious backache.

waste of money. The cover has what looks like shoelaces to attach it to the winch. There's also a slot (most likely for wiring underneath), but it's on the front, under the logo. I can't remember the last time I saw a winch with wires in the front. Poorly designed and expensive. Too bad because I have a Smittybilt winch and wanted a logo. I ended up buying a cheaper brand that had a bungee casing underneath that held it in place. really zero stars

So this thing comes with two laces that don't loosen enough to put it on a winch. It has slots on the front that should be on the back to allow room for the cables. I cut off one of the cords, used a small string and put the cover back on. After these modifications, it can be removed easily and quickly. The material has survived up to 5 months of Alaskan winters with F2 vinyl tread so I'd say it's strong. And hold on too. I will attach some photos. Don't buy this and don't expect to use it as…

I installed this on a Smittybilt 10K X20 Comp winch. I had to put it on backwards to allow the power cables to move away from the winch. I also had to remove the straps on the bottom and I couldn't use the straps that came with it to hold it up. The zip ties that came with the winch were too difficult to attach to the winch, mine are in a tight spot. I just received two bungee cords and they worked great. I have a 10,000 lb waterproof Smittybilt X20 winch and bought this cover because it says it fits all Smittybilt winches. Apparently, this didn't include her new line. I had to send it back but I kept trying to put it on thinking I was doing something wrong.
