Bad product, terrible quality.

The wire was opened on delivery as the connection was never crimped. This should never have made it into the packaging, indicating a lack of quality control.

Pros
  • Easy handling
Cons
  • Drilling package

doesn't work at all

Complete rubbish. The ground side lacks connectivity and the portable antenna is completely disabled when used with it as it doesn't work at all in Tenna.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Updates available

Great product: radio antennas

This adapter allows me to use the scanner with a CB magnetic antenna and an outdated handheld scanner. The Wx range is always useful in inclement weather, which is why I kept the scanner. It can be used when camping in the mountains where NOAA coverage is not as clear with a short antenna.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Be sure to test it for a short circuit with a meter before using it!

Mine arrived with a complete short between center piece and ground which I found with an ohmmeter after my scanner picked up no signals. If you intend to use this on a transmitter, be sure to test it with a multimeter before attaching it! Your Tx will not be happy if you pass on a short. Other reviewers have also noted the same issue, so be vigilant. As it stands, it's probably not something you want to risk using on a transmitter, even if it arrives without a short, as it's a fairly sensitiveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poor

Didn't last

I used this with a Yaesu FT-3DR in my truck to connect the magnetic roof antenna. I didn't even move the radio very often while driving. The cable has been pulled at the end of SO239 for several months. Pretty crappy design. I switched to a coax patch cord and haven't had any problems since.

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • I'll write later

Not crimped, just heat shrink tubing. Don't expect it to last long.

This took just over a month before the BNC connector fell apart. The connector just fell off when I disconnected my HT from the antenna. When I pulled off the shrink tubing, it became clear that the cable was not crimped, but simply attached with shrink tubing. It will probably be fine for something that will rarely connect or disconnect, but for anything you will connect frequently, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Mine arrived with a complete short between center piece and ground which I found with an ohmmeter after my scanner picked up no signals. If you're planning on using this on a station, be sure to check it out. with a gauge before you attach it! Your Tx will not be happy if you pass on a short. Other reviewers have also noted the same issue, so be vigilant. Even if it arrives without a short, you probably don't want to risk using it on a transmitter as it's a fairly sensitive piece of equipmentโ€ฆ
