works great, cleans well.

When I used a damp sponge to clean my soldering iron tip while working on my HO train my work looked very sloppy and very unprofessional. Since I switched to my Alyson Tech Cleaner soldering iron tip, my work still looks very unprofessional and is still very sloppy. But my soldering iron tip looks great and is very easy to clean.

Excellent quality, low price for a perfect kit with everything you need

This is a kit containing a copper cleaning capsule, flux and very fine solder. Coming back into electronics after a few years hiatus, I needed it all. It was perfect for me, the same tools and quality that I'm used to in a professional environment for very little money. I will definitely return to this company as soon as something runs out.

Effective for cleaning tips

This kit was just what I needed to clean a badly oxidized soldering iron tip and get it working again. Literally a couple of times in the river and then in a metal grid a huge improvement. I also used Thermaltronics Tip Tin to coat the tip when I was done. I should have bought this kit with my soldering iron to begin with - it's far more effective than a wet sponge.

I'm building a model train set and need to solder the parts together to make sure it works properly. After some research I needed to add tools to make this project NICE. The above points will ensure that this project, while time consuming, will be a positive creative experience. Avoid this product!

I was about to rebuild my guitar and found that unfortunately I didn't have any flow, without shopping at a Radio Shack store I had to go to Revain. I saw this kit and loved the idea of a small tin with a brass tip cleaner (I've always disliked using a sponge) and fine solder for fine soldering. Flux said it was for electronic use, IT DOESN'T WORK! I've tried different temps, different tips and different wires, nothing worked, they just clumped and curled up every time. The cleaning capsule and the flux achieve a good result. Don't solder.

Two of the three pieces in this set are of good quality. The cleaning "ball" is copper, not brass as I'm used to seeing. I'm not very familiar with the differences between the two as it involves removing excess solder from your iron, but for those who do I advise. The bin is very light and if you don't have a way to keep it in place at your work station, it will be pushed around during cleaning. For me personally there are no problems.
