Don't buy if you don't want white stones painted black

The stones are much smaller than I expected but that's not a problem, the stones are painted white or black, not very good quality, looks very cheap. A few white stones in a bag, not what was advertised, will not buy again! Update: all rocks are now white and the gray looks awful!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some little things

Very dark black! on aquarium floor

Sometimes it is difficult to determine the shade of black when ordering "black" stones for an aquarium. They didn't match my others I've bought in the past. However, I prefer the darker color of these stones and they work well with the lighter black stones I've used. Hope that helps!

Very dark black! - Aquarium Substrate

Sometimes it is difficult to determine the shade of black when ordering "black" aquarium stones. They didn't match my others I've bought in the past. However, I prefer the darker color of these stones and they look great with the lighter black stones I've used. They really bring out the lighter colors in my 30 gallon freshwater tank. Hope that helps!

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons

Clearly cleaned No fading

I was a little hesitant to buy this after reading some reviews saying it was fading and I didn't want black ink in my tank. However, I received it today and I have rinsed it 3 times and not only was there no fading there was no residue and the water was clean each time. I'll update if anything changes but so far I haven't had any issues with it and it's a nice dark black color. I didn't have any floating gravel either

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Not quite suitable for fish and aquatic animals

It's not the worst gravel I've ever used in an aquarium, but I don't particularly like it. I can't say I would buy it again. I always flush my gravel when I get it and of course most of the paint comes off. I have it in my 5 gallon Marineland Contour 5 which is a very sleek looking tank and to be honest the gravel looks cheap with most of the paint peeling off. I love the dark gravel look but next time I think I'll go natural to avoid the look I got. Also, I don't know if I want gravel where…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
