Good cheap valve covers!

Good cheap valve covers, I read some reviews before buying and was hesitant at first. I replaced my stock valve covers with these on my '93 Chevy Silverado K1500 5.7. They fit great on heads, a bit tight slit to put them in, just gently squeezed them. No leaks, clean look, reasonable price.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Little things

They'll be applauded. Very poor quality

Caution, you will have to bend the screw mounts to clear the rocker arms. and the punched lines above look very simple. Oh, and the oil filler cap goes very hard into the "threads" in the valve cover (if you can name the threads), and indeed the threads are crooked. The only good thing about them is that they come with different sized grommets to fit whatever PCV system you are using.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Chrome plating isn't the best.

Like almost everything else these days, the quality has gone down. It looks nice, but the chrome plating leaves a lot to be desired. I put them on my V8 boat, fresh water, and went outside once. Looks like rust has accumulated around the mounting flange where it makes contact with the actual cover. We'll see it gets worse. If so, I'll end up replacing them and maybe buying the ones I can see in person. The oil filler cap is plastic and looks like it could break off.

I bought 2 valve cover kits and both have leaked

I was trying to fit the Specter Performance 5428 Engine Dress Up Kit valve covers to my Camaro 69 with Vortec heads. Yes, he has Vortec heads. I ended up ordering 2 sets. Both sets of valve covers were leaking. One of them had a snapped bolt in the valve cover itself. I think the reviews I read were good. I'm not sure what my problem is. Now I'm stuck with leaking valve covers and missed my return date. Chip. FYI I gave 2 stars because I hate giving anyone a star. We're all trying to make a…

NOT EXACT MATCH for engines and engine parts

I ordered this for a 1991 Camaro RS Convertible. Although the product description states that this product is suitable for this vehicle, this is misleading. Both the oil breather and oil cap are out of place if the stock air cleaner is left in place. It should be noted that you MUST remove/replace the stock snorkel air filter for these valve covers to function. Unfortunately my mechanic discovered this too late and we didn't have time to get a credit. Expensive ($70) lesson to learn. Finally…

  • Doubtful

Worst Revain purchase.

Absolutely cheap junk and if you love your motor don't buy it. The valve covers are so poorly made that they warp and fail to seal unless you glue them to the engine with silicone. T-handle bolts break when you actually try to tighten them, and the brackets on the inside of the valve covers are so poorly spot-welded that they snap, exposing the inner brackets to rumble into the rocker arms. . Oh, and the chrome is scratched like someone rubbed it with a Scotch-Brite pad right out of the box. If
