Excellent airbag

I installed this airbag on my '99 Toyota RAV4 to use with the hose. I look cool, it's very functional for my needs and will be more than enough when I move to the 3SGE BEAMS engine. Check out my photo of my upgraded engine bay.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Well built on exhaust and emissions

Installed on Chevrolet 5.3 engine. The filter is rated at 700 cfm but doesn't appear to have much surface area so I doubt that cfm rating. I've read that the stock 5.3 needs a little less than 500 cfm at 6000 rpm. I don't plan on maxing out my touch very often, if ever, so time will tell.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Well done! in exhaust and emissions

Very well made, only complaint is it's not fully sealed at the back so I get some intake noise from it. Turbine should help! On a naturally aspirated diesel, so I'm not close to exceeding the CFM rating. Even at 8-10 psi I will still be under the CFM rating. A maximum of 3500 rpm will help.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not the best

Worked great for my app

Worked great for my app. Too bad it was a fully sealed box. To use it as a tube like I did, you need to cover the outside of the detachable part, where the screws for removing the filter are, with silicone. Otherwise a great product and some have already turned to it.

Housing is not bad

General Housing gets 4 stars, filter inside gets 2 stars. This was installed on my CJ7 a little over a year ago and matched the 6.0 LS and snorkel. The case is solidly made, I'm very happy with the preservation. It could be improved by making it more airtight at the mounting point, but this can be fixed with silicone. The air filter inside is junk. I've never used Specter air purifiers, but they don't last very well. Definitely not the right filter for off-road use. I had an incredible time…

Specter/K&N states this unit (the largest) is only good for 660 CFM

Watch what you wear. Specter/K&N state that this unit (the largest) is only good for 660 cfm. If you do a bit of math, this works great for many standard small-block engines, but add a cam, headers, and a few other goodies and you're out of reach at the top end. I have it on LS3. It's basically a camp with a pretty beefy camera and headers. At 5800 rpm the filter is empty and the engine chokes. Well below the 7k redline the engine is capable of. I contacted Specter to see if I could install a…

Pros
  • Rugged construction

  • Not automatic
