SPTA Polishing Adapter Backing Polisher Review

This is junk with a capital J. There is no edge on the pad so the edge of the polisher cannot touch what you are polishing. It is not sheep's wool but a synthetic material. I guess it's my fault for not reading the full description!

I enjoyed using these pads as they were simple and easy to change out. If I got one dirty, I would quickly switch it to another. I will say this, the pads only helped me get through one side of the car when I was polishing the scratches. That was all I needed it for, so it wasn't a problem for me. I would order 3 sets for a complete car if waxing a large car or truck.

I tried this buffer. I used a battery powered drill that ran out quickly. Then I tried my corded drill, it seemed too powerful and could burn through the paint. Then I used the old-fashioned "elbow grease" method. I think you need a drill press so you can control the speed.

Supplied with cloth, shock absorbing cloth, holding head and drill bit. The drill is screwed into the buffer head. When used with a drill, the buffer head unscrews from the drill and flies. This happens regardless of the direction of rotation of the drill. It's basically bullshit and you have to hold the buffer pad with your hand and use good old elbow grease.

Mixed reviews here so wanted to give them 3 stars for now as they seem to be of some quality but not as good as the other small 3 inch wooden pads that come with the box of course Kit. I'll try to get in front of them on an older machine and do a small section that takes about 3-5 minutes and I'll report on the quality. If anyone has used them for 10 minutes or at least 3-5X please report.

The pad will not screw onto the 5/8-11 spindle on my orange angle grinder because the pad threads are slightly smaller . Tried my grinder's spindle nut on the adapter and the adapter was slightly smaller. A cordless drill will likely work with the adapter, but not an angle grinder. Since I searched for "angle grinder polishing pad" and found this one, I expected it to work. I'm assuming it was imported and is indeed metric.

I have a marble coffee table with water stains. I've tried using a marble polisher and hand finishing it and it did absolutely nothing to remove the marks. At first I thought it was just a bad polisher but all the reviews about it were excellent so I wanted to try a different approach. Bought this set to go with my drill press and voila, no water stains. It's very gentle on marble and I think it will work for other cleaning purposes too. I recommend to everyone.

so this item works and the velcro straps are comfortable but as they say there are some problems. At first the velcro on the adapter worked after a few minutes of use, throwing the pad out and causing scratches. This was somewhat overcome with better pads. But after a few more uses the velcro on the adapter fell off, the glue holding it up isn't up to the task so overall it works, but if you're looking for something that can be used for more than a small project, this won't be my first choice…
