Cheap and Durable - Transmission Components

No Regrets. Cheap and durable. I tried to save up on a PC-951 to save a buck and chewed it up after only 2 rides (skipping the shift chain sucks). Bought another one of these and have been using it for a few months now. I don't like the gooey stuff they put on this chain from the factory, so I dump it in some kind of solvent (like a WD-40 product) and scrape/remove the whole thing right away. I will clean the chain and then wash it in Pedro's ice wax. After that regular maintenance and done. If

Short chain - 106 links

My star rating may seem a bit confusing. I have been using this same chain on our tandem for many years and have always been very happy with the product. I like the gold link for connecting the chain - much better than Shimano's chainpin method. Imagine how surprised I was to discover that my chain only had 106 links. I first mounted it on the back of a tandem drivetrain, which is the same as any other bike, and found it was too short to downshift even two lower gears. It only needs about 1-1/2

The best chain in the world: Bicycle

Have been using Shimano chains for decades. I decided to try this because of the simplicity of power communication. You can't tell if the chain link is in the perfect position or not. I couldn't be happier. I use this chain with an XT chainring and a Rolhoff rear hub. Washes out perfectly. When I installed this chain, I left it a little tight, as I've found that all chains stretch a little during the first few rides. In 3 rides of 80 km, this chain has not stretched at all. I had to adjust the…

Quiet, bulletproof and easy to install

SRAM chains are the best - I always buy them instead of the Shimano chains that come with the bike. Why? The Power Link makes it easier to remove and install the chain without tools. This is especially useful when you're cruising cross-country and plugging in a connection - just plug in a spare power connection and you're good to go (now that I've mentioned it, buy a spare connection right now). In addition, they rotate silently and are bulletproof. I've only broken two in 10 years, but…

Excellent chain suitable for parts and components

An excellent choice among bicycle chains without a doubt. Not for a minute. I hesitate to recommend it as a great chain replacement. Just a quick note you might want to consider. Like most of you, I struggle to get the best return on my investment. Lots of expensive fancy lubricants. Special machines for cleaning chains, which causes the chains to wear out fairly quickly. Here's what I found. As soon as you add oil to the chain, the problems begin. Within 2 seconds of starting a ride, this…

The best chains!

SRAM makes a great chain. I've been using it for about 15 years.Of course, a chain isn't a very glamorous item, but with their Power Link technology, they've revolutionized the way you put on and take off your chain. Works perfectly. All you have to do is use the chain tool to adjust the length and you're done. This chain should replace another SRAM chain of the same model. When I replaced it it had been on my bike for almost three years. Most of the time I rode my bike. I lived pretty close to
