Just buy a KMC chain

My bike had a KMC chain fitted from the factory. The groupset was SRAM so I figured I'd get a SRAM chain to match. Now it doesn't move either. The KMC chains are better constructed and shift more smoothly. Just use KMC and skip the SRAM chain. Since it's already installed I'll just deal with it until I need a new one again.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Working speed

Good chain, have been using it for a few years.

Good chain, I've been using it for several years and change it every season. Unfortunately on the last chain I bought I couldn't install the main link correctly, so I replaced it with another main link, which worked fine. I've snapped one of these chains before when shifting uphill with high torque, but the overall wear is very good.

  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Nothing

Exact replacement chains

This was an exact replacement for what I had on my Giant Trance so it fit. Comes with a Cosmoline coating to resist corrosion during shipping and requires solvent cleaning. After putting them on the wheel, I cleaned them again with chain cleaner and then oiled them. Significant shifting improvement which means I waited far too long before replacing the old chain. The provided quick link works perfectly. I have a spare quick link in my backpack.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Secret

No more gear noise and smooth shifting!

What's the difference. from the noisiest bike on a group ride to the quietest. Now my bike shifts smoothly. I had no idea how much a worn chain affects shifting performance and transmission noise levels. I also put a SRAM cassette in the rear which I'm sure will not hurt if I go from 11-25 to 11-28 in the rear. The included quick link worked perfectly. I took out a few links with my Crank Bros multi-purpose chain tool, leaving 2 more links than the original chain to accommodate the larger…

Strong chain for strong riders.

For what it is and the price I give it 4 stars. The carabiners are no longer gold, mine have turned almost completely black. As for the chain, I have not broken 1051st in 2.5 years. Works well. I'm a bigger rider, I usually make money on the descents and generate a lot of power. I twisted the last few chains that come with the 1051 kit, but none of them broke. If you're losing weight you're looking for a more expensive option, but if you want a strong chain the 1051 is the way to go. Powerlink…

Well made replacement chain sold by a reputable seller.

Really great replacement chain. I've driven it about 580 miles now and haven't noticed any change in performance. My application is mountain biking so I don't take good care of my chain. I've included a picture of my old chain to demonstrate the unfriendliness of bike chains. Notice how I completely snapped off the pulley from my old chain. The new chain is very quiet with no sticky links. The new chain looks cleaner. Although Onogo US was delivered promptly. in advance. Revain still thinks my…

Good everyday network

Good "working" chain. From this I understand that this is not the kind of chain you can put on an $8,000 full carbon road bike. If you're weighing everything by the gram, you're better off with a hollow pin chain (KMC has the best prices for it, IMO). For a reliable network that gets the job done at a very reasonable price, this is a great option. I'm quite the bike nerd (ex-wrestler and football midfielder turned cyclist) and sometimes I just don't know my own strength and start out with too…

Works great for cycling

I've never changed my own bike chain so I had to post it on YouTube but once you do it it's very easy afterwards. A pair of chain pliers makes this really easy and a little less messy. A few quick tips: You'll need a chain breaking tool, which comes with most bike multi-tools. This allows you to adjust the chain to your bike. The job is made easier with chain pliers, but you can also use your hands or regular pliers to remove the quick link with a little more work (depending on the condition of
