Smooth ride with reliable gears

After I put it to the test on my mountain bike, the SRAM Rival Type Rear Derailleur has proven to be the perfect addition to my sports and outdoors gear. The shifting is smooth and precise, making for a more efficient ride. The reliability of the gears has given me peace of mind on long rides. However, installation can be tricky for those unfamiliar with bike mechanics. Overall, a great investment for any cyclist looking to upgrade their bike's performance.

Pros
  • Smooth and precise shifting
Cons
  • Less durable compared to higher-end models

Good performance for the price

Heavy and awkward for proper cable routing. Still good, fast switching after setup. I run it in a 1x configuration, street, with a 40 sprocket up front and an 11-32 sprocket in the rear. No questions.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Key element of my new 1x gearbox. 5 Stars.

Fantastic shifting with this Sram Rival 1 long lever shifter! Key element of my new 1x gearbox. The old system from 2012 was 2x (38/46 sprockets) and 11-32 10 speed cassette. I kept the Rival 10 speed road derailleur and installed a Sunrace 11-46 cassette. New Sram 11-speed chain. New 11-speed 52T 130 BCD chainring on my old carbon crank. This is the best switch I've ever had. The local bike shop is too busy so I installed/converted it myself.

Pros
  • Superb construction
Cons
  • Not everything fits
