Enhanced Performance Idle Air Control Valve by Standard Motor Products AC197 Review

I am completely happy and satisfied with this air control valve. Standard Motors Products gave me an OEM product (Toyota) and it worked perfectly as expected on my 1998 Tacoma. I'm happy and love it! I haven't given up on Standard Motors yet. I ordered crank and cam sensors for my truck and got the part I needed. It's not a problem, just buy the standard.

Smoothed out my gross idle problem but unlike other reviews I did NOT receive a Denso replacement part. The IAC I received had a zero mark. The bottom 3/8" IAC connector had an impaired bend instead of the perfectly bent bend of the Denso part I replaced. Other than that it gets the job done, but for an OBVIOUSLY restored IAC I could save money elsewhere.

What a relief. A non-OEM part that actually works. My original IAC was causing RPM dips and traffic halts. I've tried cleaning it twice but to no avail. Decided to try the AutoKay IAC, also sold here at Revain, and it called out 1200 rpm at idle in both gear and idle, hot and cold. Got a replacement. It revved even higher and gave out codes. THE BEST: The part that came out of the box was a genuine Denso idle valve with Japanese markings, identical to the one that came with the original equipment on my truck. So it doesn't look like an aftermarket part (your experience may differ). And the price is as good as any aftermarket part I've seen. If it heats up after a short stop (e.g. refueling) and/or gives an intermittent "Check Engine Light" error that goes away after a few engine starts, you probably need to replace the idle air…
