Tough and sharp, the best power and hand tools

I needed a pair of scissors to cut chicken wire and thin sheet steel. These are hard, sharp scissors. They work great. But they didn't work well for my use. A straight cut is great for a single cut, but you can't cut it to any arbitrary length. This is a 5 star product and I still haven't deducted a single star for making the wrong choice, should have bought one with an elbow. My fault for not paying attention, but I hope this helps someone else.

Pros
  • Ideal scissors for cutting aluminum, vinyl siding, screen mesh, cardboard, leather and copper
Cons
  • So-so

Unexpectedly great!

Very impressed with the quality of this product. I only bought these scissors because I wanted something cheap and quick, but they really exceeded my expectations. Very nice construction, good rubber grips and cuts very well! In one of the photos you can see the cut I made with these scissors. It was steel 1/16" thick and about 3/4" wide. The cut is very clean and straight. After that I didn't even have to sand! Definitely recommend as an addition to your toolbox.

Pros
  • High force combination cutting design for cutting steel up to 18 gauge
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Very good tool, very good price!

Amazing tool! The price is right and it cuts like butter! I was looking for a tool to cut the ring on my bird's foot and this helped. You must be very careful and may need someone else to hold the bird instead of you, or you may need to cover the bird's face and gently hold its body. I was able to put this tool right in and cut it very easily. The tip of the tool was small enough to fit snugly between the ring and the bird's foot. The tip of the tool was smooth and not jagged at all. Very safe…

Pros
  • Serrated metal shearing blades provide a secure grip and prevent material from slipping during use
Cons
  • Unsafe

Ideal for 18 gauge hardware cloth

As advertised, they cut through 18 gauge hardware cloth very easily. i am right handed I've found that if I hold the right side of the fabric with the hardware down and the wrong side (the side of the cut) is pulled up and flipped over as I cut, I can cut continuously (like cutting paper). This allows you to cut further without affecting the metal mesh. Otherwise, if the left and right sides of the hardware fabric stay flat, you can only make one or two cuts at a time. Just my two cents in case

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds ANSI standards
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Multipurpose Tool

Used to trim the metal liner and grate of the chimney. The grate had metal protrusions that held the grate in place. The grate for cleaning the firebox has been moved and the protrusions are bent outwards. Instead of bending the tabs, and perhaps for safety reasons, use this tool to cut off the tab and then grind away the remaining metal on the grate. No more worrying about catching your tongue on your finger or glove. The tool only needed a firm grip to make a precise cut with a single press…

WOW, that's a great tool!

Probably the best and most versatile tool I have ever bought. I've used this tool to cut zip ties, those pesky clam shells that come with it, 18 gauge wire, popsicle sticks, screens, sheet metal, plastic spool caps, basically what crafters need to cut, but I don't have any specialty tools for that . use. That's great. I don't know how many regular scissors, heavy duty scissors, nail clippers, and cuticle scissors I've used to trim these and other things I can't think of right now. This is an…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • When in doubt

Nice general scissors set!

I was playing around the other day and needed a pair of scissors - but I was in the backyard and the closest scissors were in my tool box in the basement. I didn't even have a pair in the garage. I ordered a pair of Stanley FatMax 9 7/8" straight shears based on the price, reviews, and the name "Stanley". (Not that "Stanley" means "Infallible," but I recognize the name, what is a plus for me.) Stanley offers a limited lifetime warranty on this unit. Stanley works as advertised; when I got them…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • No machine gun
