Exactly what I needed

Unfortunately I live in an area where thieves often siphon your petrol. Since I have a pickup truck with a large gas tank (about 30 gallons) there is a lot of fuel to steal with a full tank! It costs about $100 to fill up on gas and live paycheck to paycheck. I was very concerned that this old van doesn't have a locking mechanism for the gas door or lid. Great, cheap and easy solution! I was almost expecting to send this back considering the price is so low but it looks like a good quality cap!

Stant used to produce decent quality products. This piece of junk.

rubbish, not recommended. When I first installed the lid, I tested it first to make sure it was unlocked, so I figured I was done. The first time we hit the gas it took us almost 1/2 hour to unlock. During the last attempt, the lock cylinder and key fell out. The only way to remove the gas cap back then was with a screwdriver. Without a lock cylinder, the cap is not only useless as a gas cap, it is also more airtight, which can result in an engine check code for a loose gas cap. Just make sure…

I've seen bad reviews but even Ford originals had bad reviews. Decided that I would try and if not, Revane would take it back. Time will tell if it holds up, but for now it's working well and there's no more $4 a gallon of stolen gas. This thing will pay off pretty quickly.
