Made my car hotter

This thermostat made my Civic hotter than it should. I ended up buying a genuine Honda thermostat and it solved all my problems. What a joke. There's nothing special about a thermostat not opening properly.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Reliability

I don't know why but this thermostat failed and only opened after 4 months. Luckily I took note of the temperature gauge and parked the car. Luckily I didn't blow up the engine or deform my head,

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Winterization Acura Integra. Winter service

Purchased for '94 Acura Integra LS. Coolant needs to be replaced and flushed. Mileage 296,876 miles. Problems only with rotors and brakes. Maintenance is key. These Honda and Acura cars will last forever. The thermostat is well made, looks the same as the main competitor at a terrible price in comparison. Definitely recommend. A NOTICE. Do not send with rubber seal.

Pros
  • Spare parts
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Works as advertised. Very hot heater outlet

Arrived on time and works as advertised. The car now warms up much faster and eventually runs in closed-loop mode, which improves fuel economy. The heater output now gets hot enough to be uncomfortable despite being in the middle of the Alaskan winter. 4 stars because it would be really nice if a seal was included. Little problem. Very happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Thermostats
Cons
  • Some cons

Big differences between this and the Honda thermostat

I bought this thermostat to replace the original in my '08 Civic EX as a preventive measure. The product is ideal but unfortunately does not work in cold climates. I had no problems until it dropped below freezing this winter. The car started throwing out check engine lights because it didn't warm up in time. On this particular car, the thermostat housing is attached to the lower radiator hose. So the coolant is pushed from the top hose down the radiator to the bottom hose and the coolant stops

Pros
  • Engine cooling and climate control
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
