New "Old Reliable " for hand tools

Everything I know and expect from the Starrett name. If it says Starrett, that's typist quality, to say the least. There's an old saying about buying tools: buy quality and cry once, buy cheap and cry twice. I bought this hammer drill to add to our new shop drill table and was pleased to see that it is exactly the same as the one I have had for over 15 years. Quality never goes out of style! Overall - great product, great price, good delivery.

A very successful hit.

There is something special about finely machined tool steel. This stamp is very well made for the price. The knurling is excellent, with excellent grip even when wearing gloves. The tip is nice and sharp and makes a perfect 1/8 inch groove with a hammer blow. So far it has withstood about a dozen bumps in a custom jeep. Bumper I'm about to install a wood floor on my trailer and it takes 60 hits to drill the holes for the hardware.

  • Tools and household goods

Do not use this on stainless steel or carbide in general

I bought this and used it on regular cold rolled and even hot rolled steel for a couple of months and it worked fine. It didn't break off, the tip stayed intact and was a pretty good hit overall. A light tap on 304 stainless steel instantly twisted the tip, rendering it virtually useless. For the price I think it's amazing, especially from a well known brand like Starrett, but the tip rolling straight away on stainless steel was quite disappointing.

  • Power tools and hand tools

Check your boxes! Great hit!

Very happy with this center punch. I needed a tool that could be used for its intended purpose, but be strong enough to knock out drilled rivets, which does both. Thanks to the durable materials, this hammer can withstand any abuse I put it through without deforming or damaging the sharp center point. Besides, he's good-looking. The only problem I have is the shipping method. I almost threw it away with the box as it was in a tiny envelope the same color as the box and also on the bottom of the
