These punches are great for the job ie. Knocking out pins that are not stuck, rusted or stuck. However, if you are trying to remove a stuck, stuck or rusted steel pin, the brass punch will most likely bend or deform as it is made of BRASS! steel finish If a steel pin is stuck, remove it by other means. I bought this set of stamps to work with firearms without fear of damaging them. It's not a tool you'll use every day, but when you need it, you'll need it. I haven't had a chance to bat anything with them yet, but there's not much that can go wrong with them.
